The tiles from Morocco are abrasion-resistant and even with deeper scratches the pattern is still visible because the colours are incorporated in the glaze. Each tile is first covered with an undercoat – brown colour, and then each colour is laid separately according to the design. After burning, the tiles obtain their final colours as well as high resistance. The moroccan tiles will definitely help you to obtain a more personal and individualistic style of you bathroom or kitchen.
Moroccan tiles are made in a traditional technique from Marrakech. Moroccan tiles are extremely popular not only in Morocco, but in the whole world, thanks to their unusual character, design and warm colours of the South. Each tile is unique!
Really nice butterfly tiles by Pomona Tile. We have a few others tucked away - I think they are more turquoise than red. From being nice to a seller on "that auction site" who had a stash of single tiles he needed a good home for.
The dots are raised glazing - and the lower right dot appears to have been pried off by an inquisitive person at some point in the past - although it could have been damaged by incidental contact. If we install it someday - it should be a fairly easy fix to create a solution to the appearance.

You should watch this Large On Black since that brings out more details. My pictures aren't balanced for a white background and a lot of the finer details are lost in this small format.

The field of white came in sheets that were laid down first. My wife spent the afternoon painstakingly determining and laying-out the repeating pattern of individual blue tiles seen here.

Sarah and Joseph Whitley were the first ever people "filmed" for moving pictures in the world.
Louis Le Prince was their son-in-law and his first film, according to his son Alphonse before even the famous Leeds Bridge sequence, was of a family gathering at Oakwood Grange in Roundhay on October 14 1888.
The two-second sequence was shot on a 2 1/8 inch wide paper roll, filmed at 10-12 frames per second. Only photographic copies of parts of the filmstrip exist today.
It shows the Whitley's, plus Le Prince's sone and the Whitley's daughter, walking in the garden at Oakwood Grange. (The Grange is now gone, replaced by a housing estate.)
The film can be quite accurately dated as Sarah Whitley, Le Prince's mother-in-law, died on 24 October 1888 ten days after the filming.

Le Prince developed his camera in his workshop at 160 Woodhouse, until recently the BBC offices in Leeds.

The Roundhay Graden Scene was found in one of the cameras, a Mark 2, after Le Prince disappeared in France in 1890 on the eve of his first public demonstration of his invention. Two other films were also found in the camera at the time, the Leeds Bridge Scene and The Accordion Player, thought to his son Alphonse.
