Got close and personal to a very vintage movie projector. It was the first time I've ever seen one of these devices and I loved the look of it! It would be cool to have one of these on display and even luckier if I used it for its purpose. It's a purchase I'll definitely revisit in the future.

The former spa hotel Fürstenhof is a hotel complex in the southern quarter of the city of Eisenach in Thuringia. The buildings, which have been vacant since the mid-1990s, are in a ruinous condition. According to the ruling of the administrative court in Meiningen at the end of August 2021, the building may be demolished along with the ancillary buildings.
Investigations in 2000 and 2003 concluded that renovation was uneconomical. In 2004, the listed building status for the building complex was revoked - also in view of the structural decay and architectural losses during the GDR era.
To prevent a collapse, the ceiling of the foyer is completely supported with beams.

This stump supporting the large pot was an elder tree deposited as a seed forty years ago by a passing bird no doubt. It grew and grew and as we aged together I became weaker and it became stronger, pushing down my fences and scattering dye filled berries everywhere. When my friend who made red wine from the berries and white wine from the flowers passed away and I became less able to control its growth I had it reduced it to a stump. I felt guilty but it did make a good stand for the pot.

I had thought this old cypress stump on Armand Bayou was a nest site but it turns out it is currently just a waterfront diner, as both a male and this female Pileated Woodpecker stopped in for breakfast as I floated nearby.

I captured this image of a soybean field last fall in Knox County. I used the Skylum Luminar Neo software program to edit and filter the golden brown soybeans to yellow and deepen the blue of the sky. The Skylum company and team is based in Kyiv, Ukraine. Many on their team have remained in Ukraine and are working and sheltering. We have chosen to support Ukraine through Save the Children.

In einer doppelten Symbolik schlagen Regierungsbauten und die Gebäude für die demokratisch gewählten Abgeordneten eine Verbindung und symbolische Brücke zwischen Ost und West. Die Demokratie ist Bauherr. Dem 1995 begonnenen Bau geht die größte bis dahin dagewesene weltweite Projektausschreibung für öffentliche Bauten voran: 835 Architekten bewerben sich um die Aufträge. Es geht darum Deutschlands neue Regierungszentrale wie auch die Büros für die Abgeordneten des Parlaments zu entwerfen.
Den Zuschlag für die Neugestaltung des Spreebogens erhalten die Architekten Axel Schultes und Charlotte Frank. Paul-Löbe-Haus und Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus konzipiert der Architekt Stefan Braunfels. Verworfen werden die ursprünglich geplante Platzanlage Bürgerforum mit Cafés und Geschäften und zunächst die Verlängerung in Richtung Bahnhof Friedrichstraße. (...) Das Paul-Löbe-Haus ist benannt nach dem Reichstagspräsidenten und Alterspräsidenten des ersten Deutschen Bundestags. The journey into homelessness is rarely a singular event, but rather a complex accumulation of personal and systemic fractures. As the fabric of his everyday life unravelled, economic pressures and perhaps health struggles may have removed a safety net to cushion the descent. A story of resilience in the face of immense adversity, illustrating how a person can become unmoored from society's structures, forced to navigate a stark, solitary existence while remaining an often invisible observer of the world.

Schloss Nordkirchen is a palace situated in the town of Nordkirchen in the Coesfeld administrative district in the state of North Rhine Westphalia, Germany. The schloss was largely built between 1703 and 1734 and is known as the "Versailles of Westphalia" since it is the largest of the fully or partly moated Wasserschlösser in that region. It was originally one of the residences of the Prince-Bishopric of Münster.
