So, I'm testing out macro lenses; one of which is this beautiful 105mm 2.8G. The depth of field, as you can see, is so shallow!
Looking at this image, it looks as though the tips of these tiny leaves are afloat - almost drowning, in a pool of green sludge...

This is the funniest and craziest hunt we've ever done! During the hunt, Tommy wrote in the chat that he had found the golden poop! Suddenly people came and landed all around us, but it was a joke - tTHERE IS NO GOLDEN poop! But it inspired us to go back to the Sewer and shot this picture.

Haven't taken that many photos recently. I've been trying to watch more movies and books that I never opened after purchasing. Also working on finding more freelance jobs cause favs and views aren't paying bills (I wish that were the case tho...)
I "watched" this movie called 'Origin' but it was so mindnumpingly bad that I had to leave the theater after 45 minutes. A movie critic on RogerEberts website gave it a 4 out of 4 but the average movie-goer gave it 1-2 stars (I gave it 1/2 a star out of 5). I don't mind movies with a slow pace but this movie just had a terrible script.

Happened to see this totally macabre, gross and neglected old fountain, full of sludge and slime. UGH !! The water making a mist of yellow water was running over it’s face. It looked so bizarre and pitiful, I almost felt sorry for it. I thought it was worth a shot.

In My Garden .... This frog lives in an old belfast sink at the top of my garden. How it survives is a miracle, as the water in the old sink is the consistency of sludge!

Normally these are greyish in colour but this individual has been stained orange. Explanation of the phenomenon by Patrick Campbell below:
My understanding is that this orange coloration is a result of Iron Oxide Bacteria in the water. There was probably orange-coloured sludge in the creeks at this location. This reddish-brown slimy material is caused by Iron Oxide Bacteria that is consuming the iron leachate from the sandstone and can be found on rocks and reeds in the bottom of creeks etc. Surface water and ground water in the Blue Mountains is naturally high in dissolved iron due to the types of rocks found in the area e.g ironstone. Water in the Blue Mountains is also generally high in dissolved oxygen, which makes perfect conditions for iron bacteria to thrive in. These natural bacteria grow and multiply in this water and use dissolved iron as part of their metabolism. They oxidise iron into its insoluble ferric state (rust) and deposit it in the slimy gelatinous material that surrounds their cells. Water dragons often spend time sheltering amongst this reddish-brown slimy material, especially when it’s deposited on the reeds at the sides and bottom of the shallows where they sometimes sleep. Their rough-textured skin readily absorbs the pigment and is especially apparent after winter brumation before their first Spring slough.
I saw this and couldn't possibly not take a picture of this sludge gulper.

This was not what I was hoping for, but the bright sunny day made up for it. Larry's Trucking #3011, is a new kid on the block at Mass Coastal. I'm not sure the heritage of this unit. Possibly an ex Milwaukee Road GP40?? Anyway, after a light engine move to New Bedford, MA, the crew goes to work in "Dirty Dirt" yard a the shipyards to remove the toxic sludge.
And with that, the Halloween season is over!

Having seen this loco earlier heading up to Hindlow Quarry with a train of loaded stone, we now see the result of the limestone sludge that covered the loco. 66620 is running round its train, which is near Great Rocks Jcn, and is about to pull up near Peak Forest Signal Box before heading back to its train.
