Technical note: Again and again, I'm amazed about architectural compositions using lenses offering a 12 or even 10mm hyper-wide field of view. For my camera, there is no such option. ("my" 7mm ~ 14mm full frame).
As a workaround, I have experimented with taking a pano instead. This one has 5 individual captures in portrait format, stitched to an image yielding a field of view of 141°, which corresponds to ~6mm focal length 😉

As some of you might have noticed, I wasn't very active on Flickr the last few weeks except Crazy Tuesday ... very busy day job and decreasing energy and muse
So I am 'running away', heading for the mountains (my happy place), and taking a break for about a fortnight ... to recharge the batteries and clear my mind : ))

This image was taken back in October 2019 (pre Covid):
looking at the Munt de Fornella alp (we got very yummy omelette there) and the Sass Putia mountain (Pleiterkofel), South Tyrol / North Italy
We will go to the Allgäu Alps this time, staying in Germany as we aren't fully vaccinated yet
It was a last minute decision by the OSR to run their wedge plow as they only got a few tenths of mile before realizing they weren’t going to make it. Thank to Mr. Host for the phone call and away I went from Vaughan. Make it to Salford with 2 minutes to spare. After a full day of following the plough around we set up for one last blast just outside of St. Thomas where it rammed through the biggest drift at Gladstone. What an incredibly fun and impromptu day.
The desert holds some things that dont want to be found..Janet Rose and her sidekick found one such thing..
Problems with electricity and internet here, I presume everyone is turning up the air conditioning and creating power surges and outages. I have given up looking at the temperature, I don't want to know anymore. It's hot.

Technically, I guess they're hatched to run. Regardless, the greater roadrunner is aptly named. They can run at quite a pace. We've seen them in the deep desert or suburban parks like this one. Their tails and crest seem to be quite dynamic - always raising and lowering. Cool birds.
