Ball House
The original stone portion of this house has a two-storey, five bay aspect facing the driveway. The main facade is of split face ashlar coursing with cut stone quoins. The sidewalls are of a more random coursing and all stone is chiefly local. All the windows have solid stone sills; some with solid stone lintels and others with a flat arch of the same local stone. The land on which the building is located was originally a Crown Grant to George Ball in 1796. The property was sold to the Public Works Department in 1843 and was then turned over to the Welland Canal Loan Company. During this period, the building was used as the home of the lockmaster, overseeing the work of 17 locktenders.

Junto a los muy pocos edificios salvados de la destrucción, en la Segunda Guerra Mundial en Varsovia, y a los históricos reconstruidos con gran acierto, hay una creación arquitectónica de los últimos 20 años considerable y de una calidad muy estimada.

These are beachfront properties on the south coast of England, a few miles from Brighton. I am stood on the beach taking this photo. The owners of this property change the windsock throughout the year. When I was here in November there were two ghosts flying in the wind. I love their sense of humour…..

I've only been down to the edge of Crater Lake once, but it was an unforgettable experience. This was taken with my Zero Image 2000 pinhole camera, a couple of years ago. I've forgotten the exactly month and year... these memories of Oregon are becoming so plentiful that they tend to run together.

The site of the Dolomites comprises a mountain range in the northern Italian Alps, numbering 18 peaks which rise to above 3,000 metres and cover 141,903 ha. It features some of the most beautiful mountain landscapes anywhere, with vertical walls, sheer cliffs and a high density of narrow, deep and long valleys. A serial property of nine areas that present a diversity of spectacular landscapes of international significance for geomorphology marked by steeples, pinnacles and rock walls, the site also contains glacial landforms and karst systems. It is characterized by dynamic processes with frequent landslides, floods and avalanches. The property also features one of the best examples of the preservation of Mesozoic carbonate platform systems, with fossil records.
At long last, made it to this infamous location on the NC500 route with that red roof - simply a matter of driving around the road far enough, something I've never done before. I would like to think that the owner of this property is having a bit of a laugh at all the tourists wanting its photograph and he has attached a ladder to the roof!

Just a few of the numerous warehouse buildings, most connected by rail, in this (mostly) abandoned facility. A number of these buildings are being used by commercial enterprises for storage.
Savanna Army Depot was a 13,062-acre (52.86 km2) installation, located on the eastern bank of the Mississippi River, in Carroll and Jo Daviess counties, around seven miles (11 km) north of Savanna, Illinois. It was opened in 1917 as a proving and testing facility for weapons developed at Rock Island Arsenal. In 1921 it became a weapons depot. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) listed the depot as a Superfund site in 1989.[1] The depot was selected for closure through the Base Realignment and Closure process in July 1995 and was officially closed on March 18, 2000. The Jo-Carroll Local Redevelopment Authority (LRA) was established to redevelop a portion of the property for commercial and business usage referred to as the Savanna Depot Park. On September 26, 2003, the United States Department of Defense agreed to transfer 9,404 acres (38.06 km2) of land to become the Lost Mound Unit of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge. 3,022 acres (12.23 km2) were initially transferred with the rest to be transferred following environmental cleanup. The portion near Lock and Dam No. 12 was transferred to the United States Army Corps of Engineers and a small part to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
It's a bit drafty and the mosquitoes are bad during the summer but the view is breathtaking. There were many interesting things to photograph on this property just North of Elk Island National Park.
You'd best watch your back in these parts, you never know when a Connor Family Member is out to yell at you to get off their property. It didn't used to be this way, and even here in 2024 we were guests of the railroad. It got good over a few years - a little too good to be true - before it all blew up.

There are people lurking around flickr stealing photos and posting them as if they're their own works on other sites, thinking they will not be caught up .
I did found one of my photos in an Internet property / travel sites before. There's no even linking my photo back to my flickr. It doesn't need great looking photos stolen, depending on what suits the thieves liking as those photos stolen where not looking stunning either. Just be aware of this friends .
What I'm angry at , they just don't acknowledge the owner or at least linked them where they got it from.
Although it happened few years ago, I know it's still continually happening . It might be with your photos this time.
Instagram and other sites has thieves , so as flickr and posting them where they think you can't track them down.

Rome Villa dei Quintili - The Villa dei Quintili was the largest and most sumptuous residence of the Roman “subirmium”. The original nucleus belonged to the Quintili brothers, consuls in 151 AD and was enlarged when the villa became an imperial property under the emperor Commodus, who loved to live here in the peaceful countryside and in the thermal bath of the villa. The villa extends between the Via Appia Antica and the Via Appia Nuova and was built around a large square. The most imposing part of the building consists of the main rooms and those of the servants: a circular building, a series of rooms and the two large thermal rooms of the caldarium and the frigidarium with large windows, fourteen meters high and polychrome marble. The monumental complex overlooks the Roman countryside and offers a panorama that has inspired many famous artists over time.
