This is probably the closest picture I've uploaded (I think) to what I usually look like. No processing, no makeup (except lip gloss), and it's evenly lit-- not high key. Oh, and I'm daydreaming. There's always something to be dissatisfied with, it seems.

Here I am, at the end of the second day without a shower, without my hair being washed (I wash my hair daily, usually), and no makeup.

Why? Because the temps plummeted and our pipes froze. It happens every year, at least once.

So, here I am... Tomorrow's temperature is supposed to be around 15° (Fahrenheit, -9° Celsius), so maybe I'll get a real shower.

Am I a wannabe? Have I no dignity? I'd give up all my life to be..In the book of heavy metal.

Had two difficult conversations today; one with a friend, one with my sister. Went to my brother's grave and delivered my letter; had lunch with Becky and discussed our respective childhoods and what it really means to be family.

You know, all of my siblings have their strong suits-- have the thing they excel at, the thing they get right and really understand better than anyone else. I think Becky's thing is family. I admire her a lot, and am lucky to have her; not just as my sister, as blood family. I'm fortunate she's part of my tribe, to put it in Shreyas-ese.

Still, it wasn't easy. I feel pulled in a zillion directions today; everything is in arrears.
