130524-N-IY633-193 JAVA SEA (May 24, 2013) -- Members of the Indonesian special forces unit Kopaska simulate seizing a room while being observed by Electronics Technician 1st Class Anthony Nekervis, assigned to Maritime Civil Affairs and Security Training (MCAST) Command, during a joint Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) training exercise aboard the forward-deployed amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46) as a part of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2013. More than 1,000 Sailors and Marines are participating in CARAT Indonesia 2013. U.S. Navy ships participating in the exercise include the USNS Safeguard (T-ARS 50) with embarked Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit (MDSU) 1, amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46), and the guided-missile destroyer USS Momsen (DDG 92). Seen in Java Joe's coffee shop downtown Des Moines, IA when we gathered for our Flickr Friends Foto Shoot for the downtown farmer's market Saturday AM, May 23rd.
I don't know anything about this sculpture. I just saw the sun light hitting it from the entrance of Java Joe's and had to shoot it. I think the directional light really brought of the details and texture. Can't believe no one else shot this.

Borobudur, or Barabudur, is a 8th-century Mahayana Buddhist monument near Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. The monument comprises six square platforms topped by three circular platforms, and is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. A main dome, located at the center of the top platform, is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues seated inside perforated stupa. The largest restoration project was undertaken between 1975 and 1982 by the Indonesian government and UNESCO, following which the monument was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From: wikipedia.
