Happy Macro Monday!

Back from my vacation and will try and catch up.

Important:

I will be on and off over the next few weeks. I am in process of selling my house and waiting for one to be built so have to arrange moving and temporary housing - which will occupy a lot of my time.

The little spark you see when dandelion puffs have an idea! :)

Canada Goose Gosling. View Large On Black By the early 20th century, over-hunting and loss of habitat in the late 1800s and early 1900s had resulted in a serious decline in the numbers of this bird in its native range. The Giant Canada Goose subspecies was believed to be extinct in the 1950s until, in 1962, a small flock was discovered wintering in Rochester, Minnesota, In recent years, Canada Geese populations in some areas have grown substantially, so much so that many consider them pests (for their droppings, the bacteria in their droppings, noise and confrontational behavior). This problem is partially due to the removal of natural predators and an abundance of safe, man-made bodies of water (such as on golf courses, public parks and beaches, and in planned communities). The year is 1957 and the Chicago Police have been called to Union Station due to a disturbance.

This is a composite of 3 separate photos. The car is from Geneva, Illinois' Concours d'Elegance. The second shot is the vehicle's 1957 tax sticker. The third is of downtown Chicago's Union Station entrance.

OLEG:

Would you like some more tea, Peter?

PETER:

Yes.... please Oleg

OLEG:

Why do you have your teacup on your head?

PETER:

I have cold feet. If I suffer from cold feet, I always put on a hat.

OLEG:

Tea must be in the teacup. It's not a hat. Turn the cup over and I'll put tea in it. It also gives you warm feet. Then I'll tell you something important.

Peter sips the tea....

OLEG:

Peter, could you make less noise while drinking.

Then I'll tell you the important news now.

Our very far away cousin is coming to Holland.

PETER:

We have many far away cousins Oleg, which one is it?

OLEG:

Fuzz from Canada

PETER:

I've never seen Fuzz

OLEG:

Me neither, but that's what makes it exciting.

PETER:

Why is he coming to Holland?

OLEG:

He lives in Lake Louise and there are wildfires there. He has fled and has asked on the internet who can help him.

Mummy Marian has responded immediately and takes care of the airplane ticket. He has now arrived in Calgary and is waiting for the plane to depart.

There's a picture of Fuzz, see what you think of him.

PETER:

He looks nice....

He is welcome

Very exciting Oleg.

OLEG:

It's going to be okay Peter.

PETER: Scout, Scout! Our far away cousin from Calgary is coming! I'm so excited! Lots of bear kisses from your big friend Peter Veel berenkusje van je grote vriend Peter.

Kiros who I have nicknamed Fuzzy has already started growing his mane and I will predict that he is going to grow into a very big lion.

He is the most timid and the one who is cautious with new things.

Milo is much harder on him then he is the girls and has been since he was young.

"2024: Peach Fuzz

A light, delicate shade that sits between pink and orange, Peach Fuzz marks the 25th anniversary of Pantone's Color of the Year program. This soft, heartfelt hue expresses the desire to nurture kindness, compassion, and connection—all while fostering a deep coziness as we seek a peaceful future."

Captured Fuzz as she was getting a drink from a puddle at Wilson's Nursery in Frankfort, Kentucky USA

Poplar tree fuzz on the lake.

Bernie took this photo today and posted it online, he told me i could post it under

my profile here. He says i can come and take the Fuzz out to Petsmart on Thursday i dont know if its a good idea or not. It might hurt worse to leave him, then to spend time with him. I hope Bernie doesnt hack my account again and delete my photos again.

Fuzz didnt seem to thrilled to be a flower child. LOL

Flora from Hamilton Gardens.

The poplar trees are releasing their seeds now. The seeds have this fuzz floats around, breaks down, gathers in banks and attaches itself to everything. This image is straight from the camera.

While 50' up in a dead tree (in a public park), these Great-horned owl chicks created quite a skirmish between local residents, birders, tree huggers, photographers, bi-law enforcement officers and eventually the police.

Personally, I stayed away, got my pictures mid week when only dog walkers were in the park. The world has gone nuts!

Today, I promise to myself to work for some blogs, several projects and help Fuzz with the event. A lot of work to do, but I determine to do several blog posts. For first post today, it is my dedication for my friend, my boss who always listen to me and so kind to me. She did her own first design for Zanze.

I needed to stop at Pat Catan's today to pick up supplies to do my swaps over at swap-bot.com

and we had the Fuzz out and about and the manager seen the Fuzz in the parking lot and the manager told Bernie we could bring him into the craft store.

He seemed to be interested in the craft store and the sites and smells.

this fellow was very camera shy.....

I never did see it's face before it buzzed off to the next daisy!

I've been looking at this little fellow trying to figure out what species he belongs to. Is he an immature broad-tailed or a calliope? Not sure. As he is just beginning to gain his beautiful gorget, it reminds me of a youngster just starting to get facial hair. So....Peach-fuzz sure seems like an appropriate name!

My sincere thanks to all who spend the time to view, like or comment on my photos. It is much appreciated!

The American kestrel, also called the sparrow hawk, is the smallest and most common falcon in North America. They nest in cavities, although they lack the ability to excavate their own. They rely on old woodpecker holes, natural tree hollows, rock crevices, and nooks in buildings and other human-built structures. The male searches for possible nest cavities. When he’s found suitable candidates, he shows them to the female, who makes the final choice. Typically, nest sites are in trees along wood edges or in the middle of open ground.
