The Dunker Church was originally built in 1852 on land donated by Samual Mumma by the German Baptist Brethren. They were known as Dunkers or Dunkards for their practice of baptism by full immersion. The Dunkers were pacifists who believed in simplicity and modesty, which included not placing a steeple on their meeting place. The church was the the center of some of the hardest fighting at Antietam, its whitewashed walls an objective visible through the gun smoke. During and after the battle the church became a haven for the wounded.
The church survived the battle but was destroyed by a storm in 1921. Its materials were stored and preserved. For many years a lunch stand catering to battlefield visitors stood on the foundations. For the 100th anniversary of the battle in 1962 the church was rebuilt and restored to its 1860s appearance using many of the original materials.
Make your own magazine cover. I used this image because it just happened to be my most recent photo. I feel kind of embarrassed because it's pretty much the worst photo of the entire Flickr Magazine Pool.
"Last year, a lot of hype was floating around the Nike Dunk High Composition, and now Nike has introduced the Composition Pack made in grade school sizes. I know sneaker heads that wear mens sizes will be upset, since three great models released in the Composition theme: Nike Vandal, Air Max 90, and Dunk Low"

I guess you could call this a SLAM. The ball went through the hoop with such force that the net bounced back through the rim. 2012 McDonald's Senior Slam Dunk Champion Jayson Burke.
I should mention that before anyone got into that dunking booth, TMs threw buckets of ice into the water. It was freezing!

One of the most unique features of any Civil War battlefield is Antietam’s Dunker Church. Along with the Burnside Bridge, the church is one of the park’s most identifiable landmarks. Located just across the street from the visitor center, folks certainly see the building, but most don’t realize that it has a very rich history all its own. German Baptist Brethren (known by the nickname “Dunkers” in reference to their practice of full immersion baptism) began arriving in central Maryland as early as the mid 1700s, and by the early 1850s enough had settled in the Sharpsburg area to support their own meetinghouse. Built along the Hagerstown Pike on land donated by Samuel Mumma, the church was ready for service in 1853. For nearly a decade, Dunkers along the serene Antietam creek led quiet, productive lives, but all of that was about to change.
A textbook case of wrong place at the wrong time, the Dunker Church was located on a ridgeline that the outnumbered Confederates used to establish a prime defensive position, which in turn made the building a reference point for waves of Union attacks. A whirlwind of savage violence swirled all around it throughout the morning of September 17, 1862. This house of worship, dedicated to the principles of peace and goodwill, would ironically end up being in the middle of the worst part of the worst battle the country has ever seen.
The kick ass dunking booth, complete with flag and fire rainbow. The targets on the left side are for the archery range.

View of the Dunker Church on the Antietam Battlefield. It was near this spot that the Confederate forces under General Stonewall Jackson barely held off waves of Union troops seeking to dislodge them from this position. The fighthing here would later earn Antietam the distinction as the deadliest day of the Civil War.
Note: The Dunker church that you see here is a recreation of the one that was reduced to rubble after a storm in the post-war period. Because the church had been extensively photographed in 1862, the recreation of the building was a straight forward affair.

Nothing beats staple black/white hi-tops with the SB cushioning. These are also last minute release to take place of the Heaven's Gate Dunks that were canceled.
