A super wide view of Nymphenburg Palace as seen from the east with some impressive clouds above.
Schloss Nymphenburg is a palace located in the west of Munich and one of the main tourist attractions of the city, with yearly over 300,000 visitors,
The palace is the main summer residence of the House of Wittelsbach, former rulers of Bavaria.
Commisioned in 1664, the central building in the style of an Italian Villa was completed in 1675. Gradually the sides were added and the current appearance was reached in 1716.

St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of London.
Gothic Revival style. The church was dedicated in June 1885, but the twin steeples were completed in 1957. The church received the status of a "minor basilica" in 1961.

On dit que la Lorelei était une sirène qui apparaissait assise sur le rocher dès que la nuit tombait, peignant ses longs cheveux d'or et chantant des mélodies envoûtantes. Les marins qui passaient trop près du rocher étaient complètement ensorcelés par la beauté de la sirène et par ses chansons.
The Lorelei is said to be a mermaid who appeared seated on the rock as soon as night fell, combing her long golden hair and singing haunting melodies. The sailors who passed too close to the rock were completely bewitched by the beauty of the mermaid and by her songs.
I thought it might be nice to show you the finished product. The forms were removed the very next day.
The sequence was: footings were poured and leveled and rebar set vertically to tie in the walls. That was done a week or so prior. Then the metal forms went up with rebar between them. The concrete was then poured. After 12 hours the forms could be removed. So this is the result the very next day. This is the basement and garage. A two story house will be built on top of these walls. This is the back view.

The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the early 12th century when King Øystein Magnusson (c. 1088– 1123) ordered that a church be built in Vågan to serve the Lofoten area. The first church was likely a stave church and it was located about 200 metres (660 ft) west of the present site of the church. In the mid-1600s, the old church was enlarged and renovated, giving the building a cruciform design. After centuries of use, the old church deteriorated and in 1712 or 1713 the old church began to collapse and so it was torn down. A new church was built on the same site in 1713-1714. It was a timber-framed long church design with a tower on the roof and a cemetery surrounding the church. This church was in use for nearly a century when in 1798, it was disassembled and moved to the nearby island of Værøya where it was rebuilt as the Værøy Church. A new church was built in Vågan to replace the one that was moved away. The new church was a timber building in a cruciform design.
In 1814, this church served as an election church (Norwegian: valgkirke).Together with more than 300 other parish churches across Norway, it was a polling station for elections to the 1814 Norwegian Constituent Assembly which wrote the Constitution of Norway. This was Norway's first national elections. Each church parish was a constituency that elected people called "electors" who later met together in each county to elect the representatives for the assembly that was to meet in Eidsvoll later that year.
By the late 1800s, the Kabelvåg area had seen a lot of population growth due to the tremendous fishing opportunities each season. In 1898, a new church was built about 200 metres (660 ft) to the east of the old church. It was designed to be large enough to accommodate all the fishermen who came to Kabelvåg each season. It was nicknamed the "Lofoten Cathedral" (Lofotkatedralen) by Eivind Berggrav, the Bishop of the Diocese of Oslo in 1929. The church was designed in Gothic revival style by the architect Carl Julius Bergstrøm (1828-1898). The new church was consecrated on 9 October 1898. After the new church was completed, the "old church" was still located just across the road for a couple of years until it was demolished in the summer of 1900.

Three Valley Gap Heritage Ghost Town*, is a unique attraction adjacent to Three Valley Lake Chateau that will bring you back to the pioneer days of a typical 1800’s British Columbia western town. There are more than 25 rescued and restored historic buildings, an Antique Auto Museum featuring automobiles dating from 1902 and a Railway Roundhouse, complete with turntable, locomotives and rail cars.
This artwork was completed in 2019 by Australian street-artist Smug. The emphasis of this artwork is on the kelpie and highlights the importance of working dogs to the farming communities.

A vulture.

I liked how the vulture extends from the tree, seamlessly, sinisterly and altogether unexpectedly in the gloaming.

Burg Vischering is a moated castle on the northern edge of the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Lüdinghausen, Germany. Despite an almost complete rebuilding in the 16th century (a fire destroyed most of the castle in 1521), the castle has largely retained its fortified character. Among the numerous castles and palaces in Muensterland, it is one of the oldest and best-preserved fortifications in the region.
The tower was also used as a watchtower in the past, and the uppermost of its storeys is occupied by a guardroom with a window on each of the eight sides. The slate-covered roof of the tower is crowned by a wooden crown with metal cover and a weather vane.
Today, the castle complex serves as a cultural centre for the district of Coesfeld. Concerts and lectures, for example, take place in the Rittersaal, while the rooms on the upper floor are used for temporary exhibitions of art and cultural history.

Completed in 1962, the building is one of a very few state-sponsored buildings designed by Wright. Government buildings always seem to demand your attention to their skyward thrust; Wright's design here eschews that for the long, low and horizontal curve that embraces the ground and melds with the hills to the east.
Little Bear just completed the puzzle and is so happy, putting that last piece in was always the best.
Completed in 1826, St John's is a Regency church in the classical style, and the only one built to the design of the celebrated architect, Francis Edwards, Sir John Soane's foremost pupil. Dedicated to St John the Baptist, its name preserves the memory of a local priory dissolved by King Henry VIII.

Completed in 1810 by John Rennie, the spectacular Dundas Aqueduct carries the Kennet & Avon Canal over the River Avon and is a Scheduled Monument. It was the first canal structure to be designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument in 1951.
Named after Charles Dundas, the first chairman of the Kennet and Avon Canal Company, the aqueduct forms the junction between the Kennet and Avon Canal and the largely derelict Somerset Coal Canal. The short stretch of the Somerset Coal Canal still in water forms Brassknocker Basin, used for boat moorings, cycle hire and a cafe. A short walk further there is the Dundas Wharf where the small tollhouse, warehouse and crane still stand.
Completed in 1904, Nos 758 - 766 Queen St E in the Riverside neighbourhood of Toronto Canada are used for both commercial and residential. The row of buildings were listed as a Heritage Property by The City of Toronto in 1975.

reservoir is perhaps most famous for being the location that the RAF 617 Squadron - or The Dambusters - used to practice their techniques prior to using their bouncing bombs on the Ruhr dams of Germany.
