I really love this little postcard I made up last Friday night. Use the code key on the front to write a message to a friend on the back - just don't write the address in code, I don't think the postman would be too keen on that one!
I plan on making a few more in the Coding Postal Series and having them made into printed post cards. Once I get them all done I'll add them to the Kro Studio Shop.

"Pain is good, Silas whispered, repeating the sacred mantra of Father Josemaria Escriva-the Teacher of all Teachers.
Although Escriva had died in 1975, his wisdom lived on, his words still whispered by thousands of faithful servants around the globe as they knelt on the floor and performed the sacred practice known as "corporal mortification.""

Gwyneth Wentink, Wouter Snoei and Arnout Hulskamp present In Code, an audiovisual performance of Terry Riley’s ‘In C’ for harp, electronics and visuals.
Gwyneth Wentink, Wouter Snoei and Arnout Hulskamp’s interpretation of In C is inspired by its very first performance in 1964; a pioneering performance (with Steve Reich among others) where live electronics and “real-time” visuals were integrated into an ensemble of acoustic instruments. During the performance of In Code a custom made lens will join the ensemble on stage. It is a special structure on which visuals are shown. In Code investigates the coherence of sound and image, creating a mix of enthralling audible and visual textures. In Code revolves around the themes of embodiment and structure, creating surprising and unexpected connections between the senses.

This fellow's been doing his act for a long time, as this story from NPR's All Things Considered in 2005 shows. Yes, this is the same person, and he apparently travels all around to prove his mastery of US zip codes. He wasn't stumped by any during his performance in Burlington, and sometimes shouted out the answer before the participant had given their complete five-digit zip code. That's quite a unique skill he has, or at least a great memory.
The UK Highway Code is brimming with common sense. So much so that even someone who isn't familiar with every rule knows roughly how to behave.
Rule 240 says "You MUST NOT stop or park on a pedestrian crossing, including the area marked by the zig-zag lines (see Rule 191)..."
In case you're wondering, Rule 191 is very similar. It says: "You MUST NOT park on a crossing or in the area covered by the zig-zag lines."
