I see someone in jeans with rips in the knees that says ‘Go Home’ on their knees. I think that this tells the story of a girl being sent home because she doesn’t follow the dress code. This makes me remember as a young girl being worried that my tank top straps were too skinny and that I was always worried that I would get in trouble. I think it’s extremely frustrating that as a young girl I wasn’t allowed to show my shoulders, I didn’t understand then and I still don’t. I think that schools still enforce this rule because society has this idea that shoulders are too promiscuous based on the fashion of older times. I believe that this photo can educate people on how fashion trends can send people home from school, that these people who wear ‘promiscuous clothing will be denied education based on the premise that their knees or shoulders are ‘too’ distracting. I think to help resolve this violence in the education system is to review the code of conduct and update it to be more reasonable and doable for the average student, I also believe we should change the idea of sending people home because of what they’re wearing because it benefits no one.

On saturday 24th june we woke up, had breakfast and got ourselves ready. Then we marched to our target of the day: the OBA coal terminal of the Amsterdam harbour.

Took the day off work and only managed to sneak a few emails in and a little bit of marking today and spent the rest with the kids.

Went swimming this afternoon and watched them race each other on the inflatable assault course across the pool, with the occasional falling off and into the water.

This evening my son decided to have a bash at a Python project to get the Sense Hat running using the LED's as a monitor for humidity in the house and did pretty well.

I'm thinking of doing a run of t-shirts for these. The QR Code actually works. Any takers?
