an enchanted evening ... :)

Human beings can withstand a week

without water, two weeks without food,

many years of homelessness, but not

loneliness. It is the worst of all tortures,

the worst of all sufferings.

- Paulo Coehlo

The answer must be, I think, that beauty and grace are performed whether or not we will them or sense them. The least we can do is try to be there.

Because your heart loves who it chooses, without any doubt or reasoning...

The world is full of love that goes unspoken. It doesn’t mean that it is felt less deeply… its beauty and its pain are in its silence.

Why don't you stay

I'm down on my knees

I'm so tired of being lonely

Don't I give you what you need

When she calls you will go

There is one thing you should know

We don't have to live this way

Baby why don't you stay

European Pine martens are a species I have long since wanted to photograph especially in their habitat however it did take a trip to the Scottish Highlands to fulfil my goal, up at 5 am each morning my patience paid off and over four days many images were taken. Feeling very privileged and also delighted at being able to see these creatures in their environment. Dave

I am being very safe and keeping my distance from others.

Utah is under a Directive: Stay Safe. Stay Home. This is not a shelter in place order or stay at home order and allows for people to go fishing, hunting, hiking, cycling, and such while keeping Social Distancing. This is Utah, and the outdoors are a big part of our lives :-)

This shot of me was taken by my very good friend Nate (flic.kr/ps/3LZKfL), with his DJI Mavic 2 Pro.

This week water temperature is 37°F (3°C), and I am knee-deep.

The little cove in front of me was giving me a hard time with wind and ripples while the rest of the lake was smooth.

“Seek out a tree and let it teach you stillness.”

― Eckhart Tolle ―

Wisdom comes with the ability to be still. Just look and just listen. No more is needed. Being still, looking, and listening activates the non-conceptual intelligence within you. Let stillness direct your words and actions.

Despite being from the cactus family, the May flower does not have any thorns. It originates in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil and is scientifically known as schlumbergera truncata.

Its preferences are similar to orchids in terms of support. In its natural environment it prefers to use tree trunks as support. Therefore, this place is one of the best to keep your flower.

The name of this plant became popular due to its flowering, which takes place in May. However, it can be known in other ways depending on the region you are in. Thus, other common names are: silk flower, easter cactus for the southern hemisphere and christmas cactus for the northern hemisphere.

This flower fell in love with gardening enthusiasts because it is medium in size, has a huge variety of colors such as pink, pale yellow, red, orange and white, in addition to being very easy to grow.

The May flower reaches 30 cm in height, and can be kept in smaller pots with a diameter of 10 cm. Another curiosity is that if this plant is pollinated, it produces pink fruits with 1 to 2 cm when ripe.

***

This plant blooms in autumn, which in Brazil takes place between March and May. This time is close to Easter, which is also related to the flower. On the other hand, it can still bloom around Christmas in the Northern Hemisphere.

In this way, the May flower is linked to festivals that symbolize rebirth and life. Because it has many cheerful colors, it brings more liveliness to any environment in which it is, valuing any garden decoration around it.

The name silk flower is related to the soft and delicate texture of this flower. Therefore, these definitions are also among its meanings, offering more softness to the place where it is grown. That's why you can even stay in the plants to improve the energy of the house.

If offered as a gift, its symbolism indicates an attitude of pure and true feeling. It can also be used for declarations of love, representing the sincerity of the relationship.

Being back to releases with a shot taken on our first evening in Immenstadt, during a walk along the shore of Alpsee. I really enjoy some fine rocks reflecting the last light of the day.

Being cooped up has given us cabin fever. We decided to go out and do some birding, using our vehicle as a hide, thus we were able to social distance. We spotted many hawks along our way but we were quite taken by this beautiful Hawk that landed in a tree.

After Schwabacher landing being closed last year and the year before I just didn't make it down I was excited to get down there this time. It was a beautiful morning and for some odd reason there was only one other person there.

On this beautiful rural road you can be alone for a while. Letting your feelings and thoughts come, letting your worries go. Finally coming home in peace. That is what nature does for me. Purmerland, 2016.

Thank you very much for your visits, faves and kind comments.

... SO GLAD I did not go back into hotel when I came out in the dark and it was raining ... being up for sunset the day before, and the limited amount of night that occurs there in Alberta during the summer months, I really wanted to get some needed sleep.

But I realized that the whole reason for exploring Canada while on vacation was for seeing the amazing places there and under neat lighting conditions (sunrise and sunset).

Another view here of the amazing 2 minutes where this rainbow popped in over the Lake Moraine area at sunrise.

This may be the shot taken then that ends up on metal backing and hanging either at home or in my office at work. (hint for a XMAS for Mrs. Krach to get for me ;))

While walking in the Dutch dunes we heard a hard kind of running sound. Looking back we saw this powerhouse storming towards us. We had to jump aside I had just enough time for one shot and my wife didn't stop running until the coast was clear.

„Even a wave stops being such. Even a wave, in a single instant, stops being a ripple of the sea to go and relax in the depths of the waters. Perhaps for this reason, attention is paid to it. Maybe that's why, when you are aboard a boat facing the railing, you are almost always there, looking for that little whiteness. Near or far it is. You stand there watching that slender bend of water vibrate in infinite drops and then dissolve. It remains, even during a short-term trip, to see them first restless and then exhausted to return to being only sea. "- Federico Pace

One of the greatest joys of travelling along the Lofoten islands besides its absolutely breathtaking nature and topography must be the many many MANY tunnels that links some of them or which lead the E10 through insuperable mountains. It became one of my pleasures to be at the ready with my cameras and shoot while we were inside. Soo much fun, especially since most of the time you are all by yourself, not a single other car at sight and where else does one have that pleasure?! :)

The church being constructed in 1523 or 1453, the dates differing according to the different opinions of people, was in the valley of Mraconia in a very delighted and beautiful sight, at a very hidden place (Mraconia means a place being hidden). It is known that during the russian-austriac-turkish battle (1787-1792) it was destroyed. In 1823 there was found the ruins along with a slavic proverb being written upon: "Peceat Manastirea Lubostinie Hram Uspenia Presvistaia Bogaraditi Leto 1735."

In 1931 it started the reconstruction of the monastery, however, everything having been reconstructed was stopped in 1967 by the water of the Portile de Fier I. After this the monastery did not get the chance to be reconstructed again. It became the monastery under water, Mraconia. In the year of 1993 the new stone of the new church was put in there, too. From the old monastery however it is still kept the old gate and some other minor parts being exhibited in a museum, Eselnita Iin Romania on the Danube Gorges (DN57 Orșova-Moravița)

Despite being tightly strapped down to the ground, this small aircraft didn't fare nearly as well as the seagulls during the storm! I think it was a total loss and I saw it being disassembled today.
