My Instagram feed had some pics from the Mid-Norfolk Railway this weekend, where another A4 locomotive has been hauling trains. It reminded me of when Bittern pulled a train from London to Norwich, passing Attleborough shortly before we migrated. The kids and I left the house a bit late and had to run across the field to see it, trying to get a photo as we went.

20th December 2018

1st December 2017 produced one of the most amazing sunsets I have seen at the sheds at the East lancashire Railway at Bury.

During what is known as the afterglow when the sun has gone below the horizon for some while 60009 Union of South Africa is seen on shed with 13065 "Crab" at the side

In the days when it ran in LNER livery as 4498,Sir Nigel Gresley passes the railway cottages at Selside on the S+C with The Pennine Limited on 27/71988.

A tight fit - I had intended taking it a bit further back but there was a very low-flying helicopter filming the train and I waited until it was out of shot.
