WELL MARKED and distinctive warbler, the Sedge Warbler has a lively and beautiful song that is a useful aid to identification. This one was deep into the reeds but found a small gap to focus through, love seeing them.

Training your dog was a book written by Barbara Woodhouse.
Barbara Woodhouse was a British dog trainer known for her television series “Training Dogs the Woodhouse Way” on BBC in 1980 across the UK as well as the USA. She was a household name in the UK for this TV series for her quirky personality and no-nonsense method of training the dogs and their owners. She was also known as an author and horse trainer.

Well, I am sure, some of you know this situation, You came home after a stressfull day, you put on something comfy and then you start to prepare the dinner... and nobody appears... -.-
The waters of the Barnet Physic Well, located on the Common, were recommended as a remedy for various medical complaints in William Camden's Brittania (1586) as "The Barnet Whey" but only became well-known as a source of mineral water during the second half of the 17th century. In 1652 the well was described as producing "an excellent purging water" that worked as well as that of Epsom water but with half the quantity.
A well-house was built in 1656[3] and in 1661 the Well was described as "famous" by Joshua Childrey in his book Natural Rarities of England, Scotland and Wales.[14] In 1662, Thomas Fuller in Worthies of England hoped that its waters would save as many lives as were lost in the Battle of Barnet,[14] and Samuel Pepys recorded his visits in 1664 and 1667 in his Diary,[14] drinking five glasses of the water on his first visit which caused him to need to urinate "seven or eight times upon the road" home.[15] The Well was also mentioned by Daniel Defoe in his Tour of the Whole Island of Britain (1720s). It was popular into the 18th century but subsequently declined until being restored in the 20th century. A new Tudor-style well-house was built in 1937[14] which was restored in 2018.[15]

This is the ‘working’ part of Wells-Next-The Sea. Less busy than the harbour, it’s a peaceful spot. The estuary is bathing in the late afternoon sunshine. This is one of the first photographs I took with the new lens for the Canon. The lens still feels like a stranger and I am in the early stages of building a relationship with it.

The most well known castle in this area, I posted earlier is Schloss Neuschwanstein (see flickr.com/photos/115540984@N02/53937869685/in/dateposted).
But around the corner there is also the Castle Hohenschwangau. You can see both of them when you are standing a little closer or higher up the mountain.
I was bicycling at the end of the day when I passed this little park with the view on the schloss. The golden hour shone brightly, and the autumn colors came out nicely.

How deep;
Measurements made on previous dives showed the west vent as deep 82 feet (137 feet overall) and the east vent at 40 feet (95 feet overall). The National Park Service dive team also lowered a camera some 40 feet into the west vent and discovered it was a continual column of fluidized sand for the entire depth.Sep 28, 2021

Two friends together in France
Thanks to the close involvement of Roni Horn, this exhibition provides the opportunity for this power and these affinities to be seen and felt for the first time in France. In the words of Felix Gonzalez-Torres, on the subject of his friend’s art, it gives an unprecedented outline of a “new landscape, a possible horizon”, and “a place of the imagination”, and in those of Roni Horn, “a field of waves” that is continually reworked.
Felix Gonzalez-Torres and Roni Horn, both conceptual artists, established radical practices with often minimalistic means that contributed to a redefinition of the exhibition as a medium for including the viewer and had a major influence on an entire generation of younger artists. They strive to grasp the inexpressible, the immeas-urable.
For them, what comprises the “œuvre” is the tension produced with the spectator in an artistic experiment linking the artist, spectator, and the object.
This exhibition emphasises the notions of dou-bling up, duality, complexities within repetition, and identity at work in the artists’ respective artistic practices.

Utah Railway’s former Southern Pacific SD45s No. 9144, 9146, 9148, and 9147 pull a Wattis Plateau coal train around the Barry Curve west of Payson, Utah the afternoon of Oct. 9, 1987. These well-worn 45s were leased by the Utah Railway from Helm Financial for five years, pictured on a run through from Provo to Intermountain Power on Union Pacific’s Provo Subdivision.

Bereits von außen ist dieses Bauwerk ein beeindruckender Anblick. Denn seine Form erinnert an den Bug eines Schiffes und mit 27 Metern ist es genauso hoch wie einst der Rumpf der Titanic. Zusätzlich erinnern reflektierende Paneele aus Metall an Eiskristalle und Wellen. (Architekt: Eric Kuhne )
This lady elk had plenty to eat during the summer of '22. That's a good thing as it increases her odds of surviving the lean times ahead through winter in the Rocky Mountains.
This shot was made during the elk rut in Rocky Mountain National Park. A bull and his harem had just crossed the open meadow and this cow was bringing up the rear.
