RHS Wisley

29th August 2021

A tall weed after it has flowered and sent its seeds flying off to make baby weeds.

same bear as posted yesterday. He is young here and I'd imagine by now he is huge. This was taken in 2013 and if he's grown into his legs and paws, he is a boar to reckon with.

Here he is just across the river from me and I had a 500mm lens with a 1.4x on it. no crop or anything. Taken at 10:15 PM

It was a rainy day in New York City. I was hanging out the window of our car, we were moving at 40 mph, maybe on 42nd Street, and it was lunchtime, not night. So you see, some improvising was necessary!

A great day spent viewing these beautiful gals!

Commonly called bigroot geranium, this plant is a rhizomatous semi-evergreen perennial that typically grows to 12" tall and spreads to 24" wide to form a thick, weed-resistant ground cover. They have fragrant, apple scented foliage and flowers that are 1" wide with showy stamens.

Thank you for your visits, faves and comments. Have a great weekend!

Tall, taller, and out of this world!

Nice to see our poppies all budding up nicely.

Taken from about 30 feet away - does using a telephoto 800mm lens with an extender that turns it into 1120mm still allow me to cheekily call this a macro? ; )

Happy Gorgeous Green Thursday!

Yes, Digitalis is usually tall, but these specimens, growing against our wood stack, are particularly tall and straight.

Deer in the tall grass at Myakka River State Park in Sarasota, FL.

The rock strata there in the Badlands is amazing to see as the weather slowly erodes it away.

I've posted a day shot of this ship but I feel like the night shot looks interesting. I just found out Galveston is offering day sails to tourist. Checked it out on line and it's $300 dollars a person. So, looks like I won't be going out for a day sail anytime soon.

Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!

Orihuela, Spain.

View of part of Diocesan College Santo Domingo from Travesia Ramon Sije.

Called the "Escorial de Levante". It was built between the early sixteenth until the mid-eighteenth century. Was once the former University of Orihuela and today is a nursery, a primary and a secondary school at the same time.

Been awhile since I posted an image of this massive mountain.

A compressed shot looking NW as the morning light hit this highest peak on the continent.

This impressive mountain was known to the Athabaskan and many other native tribes as Denali (“The High/Tall One”) and to the Russians as Bolshaya Gora (“Great Mountain”). An easy one to name...

"Denali is the highest mountain peak in North America, with a summit elevation of 20,310 feet (6,190 m) above sea level. With a topographic prominence of 20,156 feet (6,144 m) and a topographic isolation of 4,629 miles (7,450 km), Denali is the third most prominent and third most isolated peak on Earth, after Mount Everest and Aconcagua."
