I stopped by for a visit.

Anytime I see crumblin curbs I have to hold myself back from eating the pieces of concrete.

In downtown New London, Connecticut, on September 21st, 2021, at the top level of the Winthrop Municipal Parking Garage, a/k/a the Winthrop Garage (built in 1970 according to a plaque; apparently sold by the city to a private firm in 2006, according to the City of New London's online property database) at the southwest corner of Governor Winthrop Boulevard and Union Street.

A security camera on the end of a very high pole. Somewhere in the Healey Dell nature reserve, Rochdale.

As you can see it's no longer working, the glass at the front is smashed. Taken with my 500mm mirror lens. You can see the tell-tale mirror lens 'donut bokeh' in the blurred background.

Entrance to a harsh, grey, concrete car park with a window showing a beautiful garden bathed in summer sunshine.

Proof that the government is covering up UFO activity. This CCTV camera is blatantly looking out for UFOs rather than ASBO breakers.

Journal:

I've always wanted to use the night-vision filter and now I have.

Not recording the insidious first star and plane overhead.

Who is in the darkness, looking at us probably?

The comical dark pink tiles are not from 1951, I am certain of it. The security camera is from the 2010s probably and I would like to see a blooper reel of footage from it.

By the front desk there's a tv showing a security camera feed. For some reason all the darks are light...

How many security cameras does one need? Is it for slow motion video reply?

In de avond weer even teruggekomen om de foto's met verlichte letters te zien.

At the Manchester Flickr meet, we took a wander along the canals from the city centre out towards Castlefield and along the way I spotted this little ginnel which I quite liked the bright slot of light with the reflection in the (hopefully natural) water along the floor and the camera intently watching the alley.

Import to Lightroom, convert to greyscale, boosted the blacks, locally picked out the camera with an adjustment brush and pushed up by about a stop and a half to make it pop. Added borders in mogrify within Lightroom as I know they go down very well in the Sunday night photophlow room... ;)

A man in a straw hat and white t-shirt holds a camera up to his face, capturing his own reflection in a large security monitor. The monitor displays a live feed of a convenience store, where a woman in red pants stands near the counter, creating a layered, meta-photographic moment. The image is framed by the monitor's bezel, emphasizing the act of being both observer and observed in a public, monitored space.

Perhaps it could be used to remake 1984.

The European Parliament is festooned with security cameras. Somewhere in the building there must be a room full of monitors and people who've seen it all a hundred times before.

Big Brother is Watching

Banksy asks the hard questions...

(notice the security camera watching us from the upper left) the Johnson Wax building in Racine, Wisconsin (Frank Lloyd Wright, 1939)

You find cameras everywhere, in the oddest places.

312/365 I got into trouble for taking my camera into work as I didn't have a pass for it (you need a pass for everything at AJE) which left me with a dilema for my planned shot of the day. As I was about to put the camera back in the car and resign myself to another shot at the Corniche I noticed the security camera looking my way. Rather than take a direct shot of it and risk the wrath of security I took it's reflection in the bonnet of my car.

My homage to Rockwell. Somebody's Watching Me is an under-rated classic of 80's music.

Is it pointed into the window?

There was too many when I wasn't paying attention to every detail of my surroundings desperately searching for new subjects to shoot. These things are fucking everywhere and in more places than you think.
