Strange title for sure, but I have an association with somebody screwing in a new light bulb in a lamp.
Taken yesterday, when spring arrived in the middle of winter, and I went out to the Noordwaard. The light was amazing, so another problem with too many nice shots and animal encounters (sea eagle, hare, kestrel, ducks like the smew, buzzards etc. etc.).
And bees everywhere.
I normally always forget to use my macro lens, but this time I was sensitized by the emerging macro's of snowdrops, so when I saw them I thought I could give it a try.
I found it rather frustrating to capture a bee on a snowdrop, because they are so fast and never sit still in the right place. So I was 'somewhat' surprised to see this one later when i was going through my images.
There are all kind of trading, crafts and services along the old arcades in George Town, Penang! I like to remember the time of travelling with backpack in the 80th - we used bag repair services. I never expectrd them to be still there, and busy...

A large inter-island passenger ship goes under repair and maintenance at the Keppel Subic Shipyard, which is owned and managed by a Singapore-based company.
Taken in the above-mentioned first-class municipality in Zambales province, Philippines.

this is quite different, and please take in consideration that I dont do much of these so I'm obviously not a pro in the matter.
This repair shop and Inspection Station was built in the 1930’s. It has a large repair bay on the far side with a lift and pit. It had two gas pumps which were removed in 2007 when it was no longer cost effective to have fuel trucked out to this rural area, (which cost the owner extra money and had to be reflected in the gas prices). This station still does repair work and inspections. It has been in the same family since it was built. The owner is soon ready to retire and no other family member wishes to carry on the business, so the shop will close its doors for good. HWW
There are plenty of businesses throughout SE Asia devoted to repairing goods and shoe stalls are quite common. These two fellas seem to have plenty of business
The back streets of Liverpool's centre are a minefield of delight. This is a bicycle repair yard, incase you couldn't guess.

After a wonderful holiday filled with fond memories, it's time for Bartie to get back to work.
On Monday morning at 9 o'clock, the door of the Repair Shop opens and the first customer is ready to go in.
NOIR BEAR:
Good morning, Mr. Bartie.
BARTIE:
Good morning, how can I help you?
NOIR BEAR:
I have a chair here that needs to be repaired.
When I sat on this chair and wiggled a little, the chair collapsed and I fell on the floor.
BARTIE:
That's not good. Did you hurt yourself?
NOIR BEAR:
I ended up with a bruised ankle. A good friend of mine, called Paddy, helped me and took care of me. I can't put any weight on my ankle yet, it's in a splint.
BARTIE:
Good heavens!
It could have been worse.
Well... let's take a look at the chair.
(examines the remains of the chair)
Oh... yes... hmm... it's possible...
The chair can be repaired, but it may take a while before it's ready. Due to my absence last week, because of my holiday, I have to catch up on some work. I hope you understand.
NOIR BEAR:
That's okay, Bartie. I'm glad the chair can be repaired.
BARTIE:
All right then.
I'll let you know when the chair is ready.
NOIR BEAR:
Great... thank you and goodbye.

doing what generations have done before him, maybe the nets and tools have changed, but they will always be "Men of the Sea" to me.
A dangerous occupation which commands my utmost respect.
This spider seemed to be repairing the area the leaf had trapped itself in the web , wrapping new webs to secure it I suppose . Would make a nice landing spot for unexpecting prey. The spider was actually upside down like shown and the leaf was caught up in the position you see as I was snapping the shot. No rotation was done to the image. Again another early morning light shot. Morning light is so nice . So many beams of light coming through the forest at that time.
Look in large if you have time . The spider has a really fantastic design on its back.
The Herd Groyne lighthouse in South Shields undergoing restoration work. Herd Groyne is the oldest of the three lighthouses at the mouth of the River Tyne dating back to 1882 and stands between the river and South Shields' Littlehaven beach.
Across the river is Tynemouth with Collingwood's monument, Tynemouth Priory & Castle and Tynemouth Pier the main features.
This highly attractive building was constructed in 1929 for the German Motor Company, an automobile dealership which had long roots in Jacksonville selling the Buick, Marquette, and Oldsmobile lines of motor cars, with Pontiac added before World War II. During the war years, the property also saw use as the Black Louis Filling Station.
In 1947, the Longstaff Motor Company took the property and were selling Pontiac and Packard automobiles. Later, in the 1950s, the building was the home to an automotive supply company.
It was after mid-century that the automotive use of the building ended and it was repurposed as Boyd Music, a popular business throughout central Illinois for their band instruments (including our daughter's). Since I took this photo, Boyd has moved into one of the old garage bays and now focus on instrument repair. Today the main part of the building is BLH Computers, a central Illinois business who sell and repair PCs.

A pair of tinkerers are busy repairing pots in the kasbah of Fez (Fès), Morocco. Cobblers make or repair shoes, anglers catch fish, peddlers are traveling sellers of household goods, and tinkerers make or repair pots. The old medina of Fez was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1981.
Waken at 4am to tornado sirens on Sunday 11/3, but all was okay in my area except high winds and heavy rains, later in the day a few repairs to the garden. Seemed like a good b/w shot for the aftermath of repairs.
Hoopes Hardware downtown Muskogee has now dedicated a section of the store to bikes and bike repair.
After the rain this patchwork looks great.

Je ne sais pas pourquoi (mais j'en ai déjà un peu parlé je ne sais plus sur quelle photo) mais j'ai une sorte d'obsession sur les couleurs du Tricolore français qui me poursuit depuis l'enfance.
En vérité, plus globalement, la vexillologie est en soi un intérêt spécifique pour moi.
Mais bref : tout en étant plutôt tout sauf passionné par le nationalisme ou le patriotisme (deux mots magnifiques quand il s'agit de se faire déchiqueter par des balles de mitrailleuses lourdes), j'ai tendance à voir des "bleu blanc rouge" partout... Et là...
Bleu.
Blanc.
