Shaking his head, causing movement, my beautiful big boy Georgie lapping up all the attention. He was purring like a loud 747......he was indeed a loverboy. And I take pause to remember his loving ways. God, how I miss my Bugsy & Georgie....they both loved Christmas time - all the ornaments and would sleep under the Christmas Tree.
To My Boys!
My grandfather served in both great wars. First in Belgium and France and Second in Hong Kong under the Royal Rifles of Canada. He survived both wars to be with his family and love ones. We remember you Pop!

Chiefs captain creates scholarship in honour of Grant Sheridan
Myles Mattila is wearing the ‘C’ as the leader of the Kelowna Chiefs this year.
Off the ice, he’s been an exemplary leader in many facets of life for some time and he’s back at it again with a newly-created scholarship.
The Remembering Grant Sheridan Scholarship honours Grant Sheridan, the former owner of the Chiefs who passed away this summer, and it’ll be available to all KIJHL players.

It’s been created through the MindRight for Athletes Society, another creation of Mattila, and will recognize a player for their hockey commitment, community involvement and academic achievement.
The scholarship will be initiated during the Chiefs’ home opener at Rutland Arena on Friday night and more details about it will become available as the season goes on.
“It is with heavy hearts the Kelowna Chiefs will be playing our home opener in memory of Grant. There will not be a dry eye in the house,” says Mattila.
“Grant was a very special person who will be dearly missed by all. Grant and I had very similar fundamental beliefs in the core values of hockey, education, and community involvement, which included mental health.”
Sheridan presented Mattila with the team’s Scholastic Player of the Year award after the 2017-18 season.

You were the most kind and gentle man I have ever known. I never heard you raise your voice and I never saw you angry. You were a man of few words. Everything under your care was treated with dignity and respect….from the creatures on your farm…serving a purpose…to the grandchildren…like me who only knew that you loved them and would protect them from harm.
These days, as I get older, I find that on a daily basis I retreat back to the house and fields of your farm. I know that this is because these places are now sacred to me…the places that I would feel most content. With your passing…so passed those wonderful places. I now hold these in my memory…in my heart…a refuge from daily stresses of life….
Maybe I will find that just past the gates of heaven along with you…and My Momma…will also be that wonderful place you called home…..a place that to me is Heaven….
REMEMBERING CHELSEA - Decatur High School seniors Holly Harrison and Fleming Smurthwaite present Kelly Monroe Norris with her daughter's framed volleyball jersey that was retired during the pregame ceremony of the Chelsea Lunt Memorial Game Tuesday. The Decatur Lady Eagles swept the Graham Lady Steers in three games.
