Snowy view of the colourful Float Homes in Mosquito Creek Marina captured, on the last day of Autumn, from Bewicke Park, North Vancouver, BC, Canada
Already Monday again. And it is back to the office for many of us!
Spotted this on the wall of an office supplies store at Deventer. Have a wonderful week :-)
During the time of our visit, mist often occurred on cloudless mornings.
This was taken in Pyramid Lake in Jasper National Park shortly after sunrise, right off the Pyramid Lake Resort.
I still have limited cell service and highspeed data; wishing you a splendid day ahead!
red seats repeated... I liked the way the light was hitting the tops of the seats. A 13 second exposure at f/9 w/ISO 200, was a fun setting.
Set Desc: Photographs of The Ohio Theater in Columbus Ohio, which was the subject of the a recent Columbus Flickr Meet, with over 40 Flickr folks from the Central Ohio area converging to hang out, and photograph this beautiful theater.
I have shot this iconic red lifeguard chair at Deep Cove many times, but I keep going back. It's a bit more moody in the early morning winter fog. We didn't get the snow that was forecast, so keeping my fingers crossed that it will just stay away. Meanwhile, we are still in below freezing temperatures.

I'm having problems with both faving and commenting on Flickr....is anyone else having the same issue?
If I don't get to you, that's why :(
The Canadian Rockies are world renowned for their rich turquoise-colored lakes. The rich color is created by the density of rock flour suspended in the water.
That day we hiked the relatively easy and short Valley of the Five Lakes Trail in Jasper National Park, immersed ourselves into nature and saw five beautiful glaciated lakes up close.
Picture was taken at the Third Lake, where a set of the iconic red Adirondack chairs of the Canadian National Parks system were perched on the edge of the lake.
As luck would have it, as soon as we arrived, two men took up seats. It was a hot day so one even took his shirt off and hung it on the back of the chair. I lingered around for 15 minutes at least, hoping they would leave but they showed no sign to. As I was about to give up hope, they left the chairs and stood next to the tree with the shirt remaining dangling on the back of the chair. They were admiring the lake, so I quickly walked up, brushed his shirt down to the chair, snapped a quick closeup photo, and walked away quickly. I wonder if the man ever questioned why his shirt fell down!😁😁😁
I recognize the composition is not ideal but I am happy I got my shot!
On a different note, we finally arrived home late last night, after making a 9,787 miles (115,897 km) road trip. I can tell you that I sure missed my King size bed!☺️
Thank you for your visit and please enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Another pair of red adirondack chairs nicely located with a good view of Canada's 2nd highest waterfall: Takkakaw Falls.
“Takakkaw” is derived from a Cree word meaning “it is wonderful” and/or “magnificent”. That it is. And rather loud.
The falls have a total height of 373 metres (1,224 ft), making it the 2nd tallest waterfall in Canada. The waterfall was formerly thought to be the tallest in Canada, but a new survey in 1985 found that it is actually shorter than Della Falls on Vancouver Island.
Have a wonderful Friday and weekend!
Two Jack Lake, Banff National Park. Snowing with no visibilty of the mountains and a windchill of -26.
I just got back from spending five wonderful days with Monique. We went to Elk Lake Park (along with another Flickr friend) and were hoping to see some bison. These chairs were a bright pop of red in the middle of the vast barren expanse, but no bison. After we left the park, we did see some bison but they were too far away to get a good shot.
HSS!
Here I am with my Valentine enjoying our love for each other and for the many Canadian Parks we have visited together. It was hubby’s idea to have this picture taken with our new coffee mugs. So I set it up on a timer and captured this scene from our camping last week. Cheers and Happy Valentine’s Day!
When you have just spent a week relaxing in a place like this, it is hard to spend time behind the computer to catch up on everyone’s images on Flickr. Our weather is still great at home so I stay outdoors as much as I can. We had a wonderful time camping and taking pictures in this northern Ontario park. The evening light warmed the heart on the cooler days. The air was that perfect fall freshness and crispness without feeling like winter is on the way.
... will always trigger treasured memories of my Canadian adventure and the fabulous Flickr friendships I enjoyed in that gorgeous country.

As part of Canada's 150th birthday celebrations this year, there are red Adirondack chairs "everywhere"...

Two nicely located red adirondack chairs with the 2nd highest waterfall in Canada behind them.
Not being a selfie-taker I'd prefer them facing the falls...
Her song was loud and sweet.
Have a wonderful Friday and weekend!
We have enjoyed so many wonderful camping and hiking trips to several of Canada's Parks. There are more we want to explore! I would love to hear what your favourite Canadian Park is.
After visiting Höfn and the famous Vestrahorn Mountains we stopped at the Red Chair, an art piece in the middle of nowhere in Iceland, perfect for a Bauhaus moment.
I processed a balanced, a paintery, and a photographic HDR photo from two RAW exposure, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Whatever was I doing in the garden when its dark?
Just one of those occasions when something strikes you as interesting, you grab a camera, and take just one photograph.
'KISS' - just keeping it simple.
The 'Lloyd Loom' style chair was on the side of the road in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. I didn't notice the cat until I looked at this image on my computer.
This photograph was inspired by some of my favourite chair images here on Flickr. I created a gallery of these called 'Take a Seat...' Here's a link to it: flic.kr/y/3pEamWj

"The red chairs placed in special locations around Banff National Park are all about taking time to connect with nature and with each other."
On this day, there is a snowfall warning with 20 cm expected. At the top of Sulphur Mountain, you can see the chairs but not much else. There should be a view of the mountains and valley here. Today it's a whiteout.
They had shovelled the deck and swept the chairs in case someone wanted to take advantage of the view. Perhaps some wedding photos were taken today in this location.

I am currently preparing for an art show in San Jose, California, called Travel Perspectives: Explore | Experience | Connect. We are three San Francisco Bay Area photographers who share our perspectives and styles in an exhibition celebrating the intentional and opportunistic traveler. If you are nearby please join our opening reception at the Art Ark Gallery on September 2nd. We also offer 6 presentations. See details at www.artarkgallery.com/travel-perspectives.html
