Python Pool is a permanent freshwater plunge pool at the base of a large cliff in the Chichester Range escarpment, found within the Millstream-Chichester National Park.
Hatchling Anteresia Childreni
Snapped some quick shots of one of our new babies before we let them get settled in. They are sooo tiny, I'm in love!
They are a patternless morph of anteresia childreni, the childrens python. Two of them have a very pale look to them, will be exciting to see them mature and if they turn out to look at all like their mother I'll be very pleased.
Once they are settled in and feeding for me I'll look at getting some nice shots.
Richard is a royal python (Python regius), common called "ball python" in the U.S. He's a native of sub-Sahara Africa and is one of the most secretative and gentle snakes. Royal pythons grow to 4-6 feet in length. Scales best viewed large. Photo by Frank

How will their child look like?” This question KOMPLOT Design /Boris Berlin and Poul Christiansen, Denmark/ asked themselves and related it to often faced situation when visiting a restaurant, we miss a good chair-back on which to hang our jacket without it falling on the floor or being crumpled.
PYTHON is a 21st century chair for cafes and restaurants, Internet cafes as well as for reception-rooms with a chair back that holds your jacket like a coat-hanger without it falling on the floor or beeing crumped

Harry Everett Smith, Zentrum amerikanischer Avantgarde des 20. Jahrhunderts, experimenteller Filmemacher und Musikethnologe, Anthropologe, Sprachwissenschaftler und Übersetzer; er hatte ein lebenslanges Interesse an den okkulten Grenzbereichen des Wissens, was ihn dazu führte von seiner Kunst stets in codierten, alchemistisch-kosmologischen Termini zu sprechen; er war ein durch psychoaktive Drogen beeinflusster Mystiker, ein armer Bohémien, aber auf jeden Fall ein Meister des speziellen Scherenschnitts (im Original „cut-out animated photographs“ genannt) und Spiritus rector Monty Python'scher Ausdrucksform, wenn man so sagen darf.
Neben seinem berühmten musikalischen Lebenswerk „Anthology of American Folk Music“ (1952), gilt „Heaven and Earth Magic“ (1962), an dem Harry Smith sechs Jahre lang werkte, als surreal animiertes Filmmeisterwerk und Essenz seines gesamten audio-visuellen Schaffens. Ein fragiler und mit logischen Schlussfolgerungen lückenhaft bestückter Stop-Motion Film, zusammengebastelt aus Collagen unterschiedlicher Zeitschriften und Kataloge. In die narrativ lose Struktur seiner Bilder intervenierte der Filmkünstler persönlich, indem er Sound-Effekte und aufgezeichnete Ausschnitte von Straßenlärm zusammenfügte, um einer soliden Erzählform gerecht zu werden. An erster Stelle stünde der Geist, meinte Smith mit seinem Film, und wir wagen uns mit der bevorstehenden Vertonung des Originalsoundtracks in die unbewussten Abwege eines amerikanischen Homunkulus.

Ergänzendes zu Harry Smith für Wissenshungrige
In San Francisco galt Harry Smith als einer der führenden amerikanischen Experimentalfilmer. Im Rahmen von "Art in Cinema", organisiert von Frank Stauffacher, wurden seine Filme häufig im Museum of Modern Art vorgeführt. Smith stand nicht nur eng mit anderen Avantgarde-Filmemachern in der Bay Area, wie Jordan Belson und Hy Hirsh in Berührung und Austausch, sondern reiste auch häufig nach Los Angeles, um selbst die Filme von Oskar Fischinger, Kenneth Anger und anderen südkalifornischen Experimentatoren anzusehen. Abstrakt beeinflusst von Kandinsky, Marc und vielen anderen, die das Fundament der Sammlung „Museum of Non-Objective Painting“ (später Guggenheim Museum) in New York bildeten, entwickelte er seine eigenen Animationsmethoden, indem er beides, die Stop-Motion-Collage-Techniken als auch die Hand-Malerei direkt auf dem Film anwandte. Oft verlangte ein einziger Film jahrelange akribische Arbeit ab. Jonas Mekas behauptete, Harry Smiths Arbeit hätte mehr Ebenen als jemals ein Zeichentrickfilmer zustande bringen konnte, den er persönlich kannte. Smiths Filme wurden als Untersuchungen von bewussten und unbewussten psychischen Prozessen interpretiert, während seine Fusionen von Farbe und Klang als psychedelische Vorläufer der sechziger Jahre verstanden wurden. Zeitweise sprach Smith von seinen Filmen als „Experimenten von Synästhesie“, was so gut wie die Suche nach Entsprechungen zwischen Farbe und Ton sowie Ton und Bewegung bedeutete. Smiths breites Spektrum an Interessen führte zu einer Reihe von Sammlungen bei denen er eine Vorrangstellung behielt und mehrfach ausgezeichnet wurde.

Our Burmese python, Daisy, was hatched in April, 1992 and came to SPZ in 1994. She is an amelanistic animal - a genetic mutation keeps her body from producing melanin, which creates a dark color, although she can produce the yellow color. Daisy is about 16 feet long and weights 108 pounds.
The "Python" family includes seven quite distinct non-venomous types. The largest of the types in which the individuals of several kinds grow to very large size is the genus "Python".
This subspecies ranges from northeastern India east through southern People's Republic of China and south through the Malay Peninsula and East Indies.
This subspecies is a heavy bodied and colorful animal. Pattern of large, reddish brown blotches outlined in cream or gold overlay a ground color of pale tan, yellowish-brown -or gray.
A prolific subspecies, up to one hundred eggs are deposited, incubated and protected by the female. The eighteen to twenty-four inch hatchlings leave the nest area soon after hatching, and given an abundant food supply, they grow quickly. Adults may attain lengths of twenty five feet.
It's a jeep. It drives, and goes places.

Python molurus bivittatus
At just under ten feet, this adult male python was quite a handful while being removed from the Florida everglades. These large, powerful snakes are wreaking havoc on native wildlife. The Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission is currently holding a one month python hunt in order to raise awareness about invasive species in south Florida.
This is "Julius Squeezer" - Burmese Python
Julius is quite large, about 12 feet long and 65 pounds, according to his handlers. It takes three people to carry him safely. He is an animal ambassador at the SDZ Safari Park.
The Burmese python is one of the five largest snakes in the world, native to a large variation of tropic and sub-tropic areas of Southern- and Southeast Asia.
They are often found near water and are sometimes semi-aquatic, but can also be found in trees. They are also excellent swimmers, being able to stay submerged for up to half an hour.
Burmese pythons are carnivorous. Their diet consists primarily of appropriately sized birds, mammals
and vermin. IUCN has recently listed the Burmese python as "Vulnerable". Wikipedia

Perhaps the most popular 'pet' or 'investment' reptile in the history of snake keeping. The Ball Python is unmatched it terms of it's popularity, particularly because of three factors 1) moderate sized but has the big bodied feel, 2) a clam and pleasant disposition, and 3) an ever increasing number of genetically inheritable color and pattern variants. This individual is expressing what is termed a Co-dominate morph, in that not only do both heterozygous and homozygous recessive individuals express an inheritable trait, but they express different phenotypes. This individual resides in the collection of Phil Bradley and is called a 'Mojave Ball', which is the heterozygous expression. Homozygous recessive individuals of this trait are leucistic.
