Alumni, students, faculty, and staff were invited to connect with classmates, friends, mentors, and colleagues and celebrate 25 years of Vanderbilt’s Master of Public Health Program and 10 years of the program’s Global Health track. Attendees toasted to the MPH Program’s first alumni award recipients, too!

This is the business end of the first stage of the Apollo program's Saturn V rocket. Boeing built these stages to include five Rocketdyne F-1 engines that collectively burned 5 tons per second of liquid oxygen and kerosene to produce a total of 7,500,000 pounds of thrust at liftoff. That put the Apollo astronauts at 4.5 xg during the first 2.5 minutes of launch. That would be uncomfortable! This machine first flew in 1967 and is still one of man's most incredible inventions. I took this shot lying down.
The Ford Case Competition (FCC), student-organized and run by the Ford Case Collective, is a 10-day consulting project in which teams of graduate public policy students compete against one another. Through the competition, students create implementable solutions to real-world policy problems facing a local government or nonprofit organization in Michigan. This year, the program’s first, sought to address ongoing parking concerns in the City of East Lansing, MI. On Friday, November 21, 2014, the final three teams presented their proposals to city administrators and a panel of Ford School faculty experts at the Joan and Sanford Weill Hall.

August 20, 2017, San Diego, California, USA-- The San Diego State University women's soccer team opened its home season versus the UC Davis Aggies on the Sports Deck at SDSU. SDSU Head Coach Mike Friesen won his 123rd game as the Aztecs Head Coach, which gives him the most wins in the SDSU women's program's history.
In June 2012, Bastrop Main Street Program’s Entrepreneur-Ready Leadership Team was responsible for Bastrop being only the second city in Texas to be awarded the designation of an “Entrepreneur-Ready Community” by the Texas Center for Rural Entrepreneurship.
As a part of this project and in partnership with Bastrop High School Business Department, student finalists presented their business plans for a start-up business in Bastrop to a panel of judges on May 2, 2013. Students were vying for over $850 in scholarship money.

College of DuPage Photography students from the College's Photography 1101 class were joined by a class of Advanced Photo Students from Willowbrook High School for the bi-annual “Paint it Black” event held in the COD McAninch Arts Center Lobby. S.O.S. REMAR SE PONE EN MARCHA TRAS EL TERREMOTO DE ECUADOR
El programa S.O.S. REMAR se ha puesto en marcha en la República del Ecuador tras el grave terremoto que ha devastado la zona norte del país
Misioneros y voluntarios de REMAR ya trabajan con los damnificados.
La ONG REMAR ha pasado a la acción en la República de Ecuador tras el grave terremoto del pasado sábado activando de inmediato el programa S.O.S. REMAR a través del que se está ayudando en el rescate de las personas atrapadas en los escombros, dando alimentación y ropa y procurando alojamiento a los damnificados.
Los misioneros y voluntarios de la ONG en el país encabezados por el director de la Asociación Miguel Mate se desplazan a la zona de emergencia y ponen en marcha una campaña de recogida de alimentos, menaje de cocina, carpas, colchonetas, mesas, ropa para clima cálido y todo lo necesario para la puesta en marcha y mantenimiento de un campamento base.
Ecuador se ha movilizado con todos sus recursos para hacer frente a la catástrofe desencadenada por el terremoto de 7,8 grados en la escala de Richter de este sábado en la costa norte del país. Ya hay 272 muertos y 2.068 heridos, además de un número indeterminado de desaparecidos.
Con la luz del día salieron a relucir las destructivas consecuencias de la sacudida en las provincias afectadas, en especial las de Manabí y Esmeraldas, declaradas en emergencia por el Gobierno junto a las de Guayas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos y Santa Elena. Además, el estado de emergencia rige en el conjunto del país, que comienza a hacer acopio de medicinas, agua, mantas, carpas y alimentos para hacerlos llegar a lugares como Pedernales y Manta, dos de los puntos más castigados.
El terremoto se produjo a las 18.58 hora local del sábado (23.58 GMT), entre los balnearios costeros de Cojimíes y de Pedernales, en la provincia de Manabí y colindante con la vecina Esmeraldas, que también sintió el impacto de las réplicas. Descartado el riesgo de tsunami, la búsqueda y rescate de supervivientes se convirtió en la principal prioridad para las autoridades, que hicieron constantes llamamientos a la calma y a la unidad mientras aseguraban que lo primero es atender a los damnificados.
Los equipos de rescate buscan supervivientes entre los escombros, que dan a lugares como Pedernales, en el epicentro del desastre, el aspecto de un lugar castigado por un bombardeo, como lo describió el ministro del Interior, José Serrano.

Alewife swim against the current where thousands of herring gather to spawn in a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay in Cecil County, Md., on April 20, 2017. River herring like the alewife and the American shad are anadromous fish that live off the Atlantic coast as adults but journey into freshwater to spawn every spring. Ceramics Program Holiday Show and Sale Exhibiting Artist
The Ceramics Program, Office for the Arts at Harvard will present its annual Ceramics Program Holiday Show and Sale December 12-15, 2019 in its state-of-the art facility at 224 Western Avenue, Allston, Massachusetts.
More than 80 artists from the Ceramics Program present an extraordinary selection of ceramic work in this sale, from functional dinnerware to sculptural masterpieces to ceramic ornaments and jewelry. In Gallery 224, the Ceramics Program’s dedicated exhibition space, wheel throwing and hand building demonstrations by exhibiting artists will give visitors the chance to observe the techniques and skills represented by the work. A large display of unique mugs made by each exhibiting artist will also be featured in the gallery, with all proceeds from these special mug sales to support studio needs and scholarships to the Ceramics Program.
The Holiday Show and Sale begins with a festive Opening Reception on Thursday, December 12 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. The Show and Sale continues Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, December 13-15, from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm each day. Admission is free and open to the public.
One address, two events! Over the same dates, the Harvard Ed Portal, located next to the Ceramics Program in the same building, will feature vendors of crafts, artisanal goods, gifts, and fine art, as well as live music, food and drinks for purchase, a beer garden, and more during their Allston-Brighton Winter Market.
Approaching its 50th year, the Ceramics Program, Office for the Arts at Harvard provides a creative studio and laboratory study environment for Harvard students, staff, and faculty, as well as designers, artists, scholars, and scientists from the greater Boston, national and international arenas. Courses, workshops, master classes and special events are offered in the program's 15,500-square-foot studio at 224 Western Avenue in Allston.

South Carolina National Guard Soldiers, and fire department/EMS rescuers with the S.C. Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team (SC-HART) program, S.C. Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 1 (SC-TF1), perform hoist-training operations during the preliminary phases of “Patriot South Exercise 2017” (Patriot South 17), a joint training-exercise focused on natural disaster-response and preparedness, Gulfport and Port Bienville Industrial Complex (PBIC), Mississippi, Jan. 29, 2017. Patriot South 17 is taking place at multiple locations across Mississippi, from January 23 through February 7, 2017, and it offers the National Guard and its local and federal partners a realistic-training opportunity to test response capabilities, procedures, and readiness through a simulated hurricane and Tsunami scenario “hitting the coastal areas of the state.” Specifically, in preparation for future operations, South Carolina’s Headquarters and Headquarters and (-) Company A 2-151st Security and Support Aviation Battalion, 59th Aviation Troop Command, deployed both its current HART-capable platforms, the UH-60L Black Hawk utility helicopter and its LUH-72A Lakota light utility helicopter--the latter being a recent addition to the HART program for South Carolina.
