I took a guided tour to Delphi and bus ride from Athens was about 2 hours and 30 minutes. We stopped at a little town where got out to stretch out our legs, buy bottled water, and eat a few snacks before continuing our scenic route to Delphi. Once we arrived, our tour guide showed us several ancient ruins of Delphi. She showed us the treasury where the Greek city states would come in and put their treasure, gold, and money as part of an offering to the Greek god Apollo. We also saw the remains of Apollo's temple, theatre, and stadium. Then we had a short tour of the nearby museum. After having lunch, we saw the remains of the Oracle before returning to Athens.
Heute wurden die Feuerwehren Rüdesheim am Rhein, Eibingen, Aulhausen und Presberg zu einem ausgedehnten Lagerhallenbrand im Bereich "An der Lach" Ecke "Kastanienallee" alarmiert. Bereits bei der Anfahrt war starker Feuerschein und meterhohe Rauchwolken zu erkennen. Beim Eintreffen der Einsatzkräfte zündeten mehrerer im Inneren gelagerte Gasflaschen und es kam zur Durchzündung des als Baustofflagers benutzen Gebäudes. Durch die enorme Hitzeentwicklung wurden zahlreiche Fahrzeuge, die auf dem angrenzenden Parkplatz standen, teils erheblich beschädigt. Personen kamen nicht zu schaden. Auch das angrenzende Wohnhaus konnte durch eine Riegelstellung vor einer Beschädigung bewahrt werden. Insgesamt waren neben 70 Feuerwehrkräften auch der OLRD sowie Rettungswagen und ein Notarzt vor Ort. Zur Brandursache sind Ermittlungen aufgenommen worden.

Desdemona: “You look gorgeous, girls. Oh, this is so exciting! I have only seen the groom in pictures. I hope he’s worthy of our lovely Ophelia.”
Danielle: “We haven’t seen him either, but Ophelia talks so highly of him…”
Juliet (continues): “…that he must be a perfect match for her. And he certainly looks handsome!”
Desdemona: “But does his personality match his good looks? I’m concerned about that illness of his. Where is he? Usually the groom is there first. You and the bridesmaids are already here, and Ophelia is coming with George any minute now. Ophelia is going to need all of us if it goes wrong…”
Juliet: “Danielle and I are not canceling our move to Australia, mom! We came here just for the wedding anyway.”
Danielle: “I’m sure Violet has got it all covered.”
Juliet: “Yep! She’s like best friends with Ophelia anyway.”
Desdemona: “Hmph… But I am her mother. Looks like I will have to make sure she’s safe, without your help.”
Juliet: “You’ve still got Daddy, too. And you can always call or email us. We’ve been planning this move for like two years, and you know it!”
Desdemona (sighs deeply): “Oh, Danielle, you had better look out for my girl in the big world since her head can’t be turned.”
Danielle: “I will! I promise.”
