Lighting it was tricky. Bokeh Background is mostly natural This is wall, covered with silver christmas tinsel. I light it up with flash at very low angle, so every glare produced single bokeh spot. Model been placed about 10 meters from background, so key and fill lights for her almost did not reach background. Light setup for model:
1. Two flashes into Westcott stripbox as kickers.
2. Single flash into Photek Softliter 36'' from above, as key light.
3. Single flash into Photek Softliter 60'', as very soft fill light.
Flashes: SB-800, SB-80DX and SB-26. All in one with Radiopoppers, PX for SB-800 and JrX for old flashes. Ive got large percentage of misfires, blame it on low batteries. Also, 135mm f2 gives heavy fron-focus from time to time on D700...
Triggered via Nikon CLS by Wireless remote SU-800 and radiopoppers.

As you can see I've experimented mostly both on stage A and on stage B.

Ultimamente con le nuove uscite discografiche, si vedono sempre più cover indecenti, realizzate in poco tempo, senza un minimo di concept.
Io sono uno studente di Graphic Design prossimo alla laurea e trovo davvero ingiusto che ragazzi come me, che hanno davvero voglia di lavorare in questo settore, con delle buone idee da mettere in pratica, devono passare in secondo piano ritrovandosi questi scempi sott'occhio. Persone che guadagnano dollari a palate, per realizzare un'immagine vuota, priva di significato, a cui vanno abbinate le prime due font a caso che si ritrovano sul computer.
Per fortuna, anche se rosico, non demordo e ho in mente un progetto molto preciso: rifare queste cover a dovere, con elementi pre-esistenti da quelle originali. Non potevo non chiamare questo ciclo: Ti Rifaccio la cover! Spero siano di vostro gradimento, trovate le differenze! Lol

PRISM: La copertina di PRISM, nuovo album di Katy Perry in uscita ad Ottobre, é una delle cover più orrende che abbia mai visto. Si compone di uno sfondo floreale, sul quale, senza troppa premura, viene sovrapposta una fotografia dell'artista, tra l'altro poco riconoscibile a causa dell'effetto "Lens Flare" aggiunto proprio alla sinistra della foto ritratto. Con altrettanto cattivo gusto, viene aggiunta una cornice molto sottile e lo sfondo che fa da base, diventa un'ulteriore cornice più spessa, ottenendo così un effetto passepartout riuscito malissimo.
Nella cover che ho ricreato innanzitutto ho aggiunto un elemento fondamentale che (non capisco ancora perché) non é stato aggiunto alla cover: il logo di PRISM. Questo logo era visibile prima dell'uscita del lead single "Roar" sul sito ufficiale di Katy Perry, ed era forse l'unica cosa guardabile di questa nuova era, quindi mi é sembrato più che giusto dare rilievo e spicco a quest'ultimo, affiancando una semplice font lineare, che ho messo in risalto con dei coefficienti grafici. Per riprendere l'effetto passepartout dato alla cover originale, ho usato sapientemente una traccia che contorna la cover e che riprende le tonalità dell'immagine che ho curato con photoshop, insieme a quelli dei coefficienti e del logo, con una tonalità più scura.

L'anima Vola: Una canzone bellissima non può avere una cover che fa cagare (e consentitemi di essere esplicito, quando ci vuole, ci vuole!). Qui abbiamo davvero raggiunto l'apice del cattivo gusto, che se avesse una casa, l'avrebbe trovata proprio in questo artwork (se così si può definire). Una gran caduta di stile per Elisa, che nei suoi album precedenti, ha avuto sempre un team esperto nella realizzazione dei packaging e dell'identità grafica di un album, che con maestria han saputo sempre fare ottimi lavori. Ma cos'è successo con questa cover? Chi é stato così malvagio da inserire il titolo tra la "S" e la "A" con tanto di disposizione alla CDC ?!
Nella cover che vi ripropongo, mi sono ispirato alle vecchie cover di Elisa e mi sono lasciato guidare dalla musica del nuovo singolo, a cui ho associato due tinte di verde. Per quanto riguarda le font, ho scelto una font scritta con un tratto sottile, abbinata ad una che simula pennellate doppie. Il tutto impreziosito da un'illustrazione che combina un paio di occhi chiusi alla sagoma di una farfalla, che ne delinea i tratti fisionomici.
