Lizzi is the oldest of my cats. She's always been very charismatic and always got her way with everyone. That's why I eventually nicknamed her Queen Mother. She feels recognized by her new name and is very comfortable in her role. Even the dogs acknowledge her dominance.
For this week's Macro Monday theme 'Gift'
My Mum loved her beads but my sisters and I don't really wear them so rather than leave them languishing in a box I had the idea of using them to make each of my sisters, my daughter and my nieces a decoration. I basically wired the beads onto a heart shaped wire frame. As the heart is bigger than the 3" limit for Macro Monday images I have photographed a small section of my heart. I gifted the hearts to my four sisters, my daughter and my nieces for Christmas and they were all really touched. Also included were some beads from a broken vintage necklace that belonged to our Maternal Grandmother. I shared those beads out to make sure everyone had some of them. I also colour matched the beads as much as possible to their home decor!

Planted by Mum the year before she passed away. Every year, when it flowers, it gives me lovely warm memories. Not sure what it’s called but it’s a climber and smells absolutely gorgeous.

Moments of tenderness are lovely to watch as the pups bond with their mums.
These gentle giants can however become snarling aggressive leviathans if a neighbour gets too close.

As I look outside I see a lot and I mean A LOT of snow....with more to come; I have more winter shots to post, but still need to deal with color right now, hence.....flowers.....a mum to be exact.

This fabulous honeysuckle (my favourite climber) is here as a tribute to my Mum's house, which is back on the estate agent's website again. Just over a month ago we thought we had a buyer and we got as far as contracts being emailed to my brother-in-law (the other executor) and me, but a week ago we were told our buyer had to pull out as their buyer wasn't happy with their house! We gave them a week to see if there was anything they could to (eg. drop their price or get the work done) - they haven't, so rather than waste anymore time or money on the solicitor we advised the estate agent to get it back out there! Oh well, thinking we had a sale made my sister clear a lot more of the stuff we were unsure about, meaning it will be much quicker when we are successful.
This all has nothing to do with the honeysuckle, but it is one of the decent plants growing in my Mum's garden!
