HMM!
I have missed doing Macro Mondays the last couple of weeks! When I saw this theme, I knew I wanted to shoot my mom's piccolo. She is a gifted flutist and plays in the Hill Country Community Band as well as in her own ensemble, The Prevailing Winds. She provided this information about her piccolo... it is very special!
“Roy Seaman and Miles Zentner were the masters of handmade piccolos 30-40 years ago, designing and constructing piccs at the Roy Seaman factory. The original factory was sold to Gemeinhardt (a major flute/piccolo manufacturer); Gemeinhardt still produces a line they call "Roy Seaman piccolos." However, there are a few of the handmade grenadilla wood piccs from the original Roy Seaman factory in circulation, and this is one of them ~ serial #259.”
A piccolo is about 12.5" in length. This image is the center (about 1/4) section of the instrument.

This is the underside of the harmonic curve of my Celtic harp. It is a 36 string harp with a full set of levers that allow you to change the strings to a sharp. I was fortunate enough to collaborate with a luthier that let me design the harp from start to finish and the company liked it so much that they added this model to their production line. :)
My dad departed this earth many years ago but I still have his old harmonica. I have childhood memories of us all sitting on the veranda listening to my dad play us a tune.

For Macro Mondays - November 6 2017 - Member's Choice "Musical Instruments"
This was hand made by my husband using a Romeo Y Julieta cigar box. Showing some of the detail of the box, fret board and strings.
This instrument is also used for the Macro Mondays theme torn about 2 years ago, November Rain

This is my contribution to Macro Mondays theme #Member's Choice Musical Instrument. I often think abort playing The flute.... It was a big part of my life growing up... HMM to all of you!
For Macro Monday's Musical Instruments theme.
This is a simple Ocarina which I made out of pottery ages ago.
This one is really more a whistle than a flute as it doesn't have any finger holes.
When leaving their parental home our children took their instruments along. Only my old keyboard is left. It is a modern musical instrument and quite boring compared classical instruments. But it is all I have.
The light so clearly reflected the guitar strings but I was surprised how wavy they appeared, like they were climbing over the painted lines.

Rhapsody In Blue is a concerto for piano and orchestra written in three weeks by George Gershwin in 1924 for a concert entitled "An Experiment in Modern Music". Gershwin himself performed it at the premiere.
The piece is also greatly associated with the late great Larry Adler, a virtuoso harmonica player and Oscar nominee, hence here we have a diatonic harmonica, captured as shown using a 12mm extension tube. A blue gradient was added through Photoshop as a nod to Mr Adler's virtuosity and to the popularity of the instrument in blues music. A layer mask was used to retrieve the original colouring of the wood around the holes.
