The organization is not quite in place yet, so our new First Cat has not been appointed. Rags is the most experienced, but less ambitious than Caithlin, who might be an upcoming queen. For now however, they seem to share the responsibility in harmony... :)

The remains of "La Fonderie de l'Authion", near Angers, France. Established in 1955, this foundry of aluminium, which once employed up to 220 workers, used to produce pieces for the Car Industry (General Motors, Peugeot-Citroën, Renault, Volkswagen), and it didn't survive the "crisis" of 2008-2009.

Cooper's hawk (Astur cooperii) is a medium-sized hawk native to the North American continent and found from southern Canada to Mexico. This species was formerly placed in the genus Accipiter. As in many birds of prey, the male is smaller than the female.

Tundra swans are returning to the lake for the winter season, soon to be followed by the snow geese. Yesterday was a warm and sunny day, unusual for mid-December. These tundra swans looked beautiful against the deep blue sky. Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area, Lancaster/Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.

At Amrep Getting Some Work Done

Sun Valley, CA

3/4/17

WMmaster626, Alex Clemmans and I headed over to Waste Management Sun Valley to check out their fleet. Sun Valley recently received 2 new LNG Peterbilt Amreps that will most likely end up in Palmdale once Sun Valley receives their new CNG fleet. There were also thousands of new black dumpsters all over the Sun Valley yard that extended to where the Bradley Landfill once was active. The Sun Valley staff was great and even started up the Road Commander for us. Thank you WMmaster626, Alex Clemmans for a great day and special thanks to the friendly Waste Management staff at Sun Valley.

Leftover from the era of Big Timber, nearly 380,000 miles of roads riddle our forests. Unneeded and unmaintained roads are leading to a host of environmental problems.
