Sometimes you just have to treat yourself to something special. I've admired these eggs ever since I was a young girl. There are 50 in existence at the moment and some have been lost or stolen.

History. The first Fabergé egg was crafted for Tsar Alexander III, who had decided to give his wife, the Empress Maria Feodorovna, an Easter egg in 1885, possibly to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their betrothal. ... Known as the Hen Egg, the very first Fabergé egg is crafted from a foundation of gold. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faberg%C3%A9_egg

Each of the boxes has a unique pattern on the inside of the lid. Six of my granddaughters should enjoy filling these boxes with jewelry.

This is a wood box base, covered in blue clay. On the top and all four sides I carved different Celtic designs (the knot on top is one of my favorites, I've also carved it on a red box). Each of the four sides has a different animorphic Celtic carving. Lots of work!! (Materials: wood, clay, paint)

This is probably the closest I've ever had to a traditional vanity, and it happened completely by accident. When the stainless steel kitchen bar hanging system (Ikea's Grundtal rail, hooks, and hanging rack; Asker porcelain containers) didn't fit in our kitchen, we installed it in our bedroom instead, where it's working extremely well.

This corner is also chock-full of small items that bring back big memories for me: a wedding photo, my mom's jewelry, and my baby brother's "tail" are probably the most important. The blue agate windchime, Russian porcelain, jewelry boxes, alligator brush and comb, paisley silk scarf, oak table, and wall hangings are all likewise loaded with silent significance.

3 will be on display at the "Fine Art of Craft Show" at the Center for the Arts Evergreen, CO. Opening April 25 - May 23.

Enjoyed building jewelry boxes for six of the most beautiful granddaughters that a proud grandpa could ever ask for. The wood is Russian Olive from a tree that blew down in their backyard.

The Bride's jewelry box. I embellished it with real shells, pearls and solder 'dots'. I could have gotten real carried away with the bling. I had to hold myself back :)))
