James Anderson lived near Glasgow and built these cars in his garage in the 20's and 30's and raced them competively.

With yet fewer trees and more new building around the Cambridge University cricket ground. Here four old boys get a grand view of England's Jimmy Anderson bowling from the pavilion end.
Jimmy Anderson leaves the field at Headingley with the match ball having taken 5-76 in West Indies first innings. His fine performance was the one bright spot for England as the Windies had racked up a big lead over the home team on Day 3 of the 2nd Investec Test. I also went along to the match on the final day hoping to see Jimmy take the 3 wickets he needed to reach 500 test wickets ... but it wasn't his day as West Indies scored 324-44 to win and Jimmy stayed on 497.
He joined the select 500 Club by bowling Kraigg Brathwaite in West Indies 2nd innings at Lords in the following test match. Jimmy went into the series vs. India next on 540 test wickets and overhauled Glenn McGrath's final total of 563 wickets in the Oval test vs. India in September 2018.
James Anderson plays forward but gets bowled by Cambridge MCCU seamer Emerton at Fenners. Anderson was probably suffering from vertigo ... having been put up the batting order to no. 8. After he hit a breezy 16 his bails flew off here.

Book: The Affair of the Blood Stained Egg Cosy by James Anderson (my copy is the 1975 first UK edition hardcover, Constable & Co, with jacket art by Graham Bishop)
Book bought for $2 from a church book sale many years ago.
Lancashire and England's James Anderson still as impressive as ever at nearly 43 years old. An 'action shot', banking the camera to match JA's movement as he runs in with the ball.
