IIUM Alumni Bid Farewell To PJ Campus

PETALING JAYA, 18 December 2017 – Last Saturday (16 December), under the initiative of the Alumni Office of IIUM, the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) IIUM had a farewell reunion in Petaling Jaya campus before its closure and handing over to Lembaga Kolej Islam Malaysia (LARKIM).
The event started from 9 a.m. with football tournament at the field, food stalls along the walkway, and international performances, and ended with a closing ceremony at 3 p.m.
The alumni who attended the reunion were those who studied foundation as well as bachelor and postgraduate degrees in that campus earlier. IIUM PJ used to be the main campus of IIUM before it moved to Gombak in stages starting from 1995 and later replaced by CFS IIUM.
The Deputy Rector (Academic and Planning), Prof. Dr. Isarji Hj Sarudin in his closing speech said, “The alumni are no longer here but their children are here and they continue to send their relatives and their children or their cousins because they love this university. They are here through assistance of our Malaysian government, or maybe through their own initiative.”
Dr. Isarji said that there will be more activities for the alumni next year. He expressed the hope for the Alumni Relations Division to continue to build relationship with the alumni wherever and whoever they are. He therefore expected the alumni to keep in touch with the Alumni office as well.
Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Che Amnah Bahari who is the director of Alumni Relation Division said, “The event is promising, you can see people coming in and out, and we don’t expect because the number of walk in is about 200 plus.”
Asked about her memory of CFS PJ campus, Dr. Amnah had this to say: “We’ve been studying here, this is where we fell down, this is where we woke up, and this is where we developed our spirituality and intellectually within ourselves, introspectively, developing our career, starting from us.”

সূরা সাফ্ফাতে ইরশাদ হয়েছে-‘তাদের মাঝে ঘুরে ঘুরে পরিবেশন করা হবে স্বচ্ছ-শুভ্র পানীয়ের পানপাত্র, যা পানকারীদের জন্য সুস্বাদু, তাতে মাথা ব্যাথা হবে না এবং তা পান করে মাতালও হবে না। সূরা সাফ্ফাত:৪৫-৪৭ @ www.al-jannatbd.com
সূরা তূরে ইরশাদ হয়েছে, ‘শরাব পানের কারণে তারা কোন ধরনের অসার অবান্তর কথা বলবে না, কোন ধরনের গুনাহের কাজও করবে না।’ @ www.al-jannatbd.com
সূরা দাহরে ইরশাদ হয়েছে – ‘আর তাদের রব তাদের খুবই পবিত্র পানীয় পান করাবেন।’সূরা দাহর:২১ (এ দুনিয়াতে) প্রকাশ পায় যা একটি নখে উঠিয়ে নেয়া যায়, তাহলে আসমান এবং জমিনের যা কিছু আছে তার সবকিছুই আলোকিত হয়ে যাবে। আর যদি জান্নাতীদের একজন (দুনিয়ার দিকে) ঝুঁকে দেখে, যার ফলে তার কংকণ প্রকাশ হয়ে যায়, তাহলে সূর্য এমন আলোহীন হয়ে যাবে যেমন সূর্যের কারণে তারকাগুলো আলোহীন হয়ে যায়। @ www.al-jannatbd.com

Jaipur's major museum is housed in the Albert Hall, a huge palatial complex constructed in the 1880s by the British in an elaborate style that fuses traditional Indian and Victorian elements. The collections it houses consist mainly of Indian art from across the centuries, but also include international exhibits and archaeology, which accounts for the surprising mural decoration in the entrance halls (that reference themes from ancient Middle Eastern cultures).
The extensive collections are a place to linger in and soak up the many small details in the beautiful paintings, sculptures and applied arts on display, which combined with the impressive architecture richly reward the visitor.
