Summer temperatures in this city rises well above 45°C / 113°F during the hottest weather and the water in the pool is too hot to swim in.
I understood that full black abaya and face veil is fashion necessary to survive this hot summer.

بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
يٰأَيُّهَا الَّذينَ ءامَنُوا اركَعوا وَاسجُدوا وَاعبُدوا رَبَّكُم وَافعَلُوا الخَيرَ لَعَلَّكُم تُفلِحونَ ۩
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
"O you who have believed! Bow down, and prostrate yourselves, and worship your Lord and do good that you may be successful." Surah [22] al-hajj, ayat [77]

خُذِ العَفوَ وَأمُر بِالعُرفِ وَأَعرِض عَنِ الجٰهِلينَ
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
"Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the foolish (i.e. don't punish them)." Surah [7] al-araaf, ayat [199]

وَمِنَ النّاسِ مَن يَعبُدُ اللَّهَ عَلىٰ حَرفٍ ۖ فَإِن أَصابَهُ خَيرٌ اطمَأَنَّ بِهِ ۖ وَإِن أَصابَتهُ فِتنَةٌ انقَلَبَ عَلىٰ وَجهِهِ خَسِرَ الدُّنيا وَالءاخِرَةَ ۚ ذٰلِكَ هُوَ الخُسرانُ المُبينُ
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
"And among mankind is he who worships Allâh as it were, upon the edge (i.e. in doubt); if good befalls him, he is content therewith; but if a trial befalls him, he turns back on his face (i.e. reverts back to disbelief after embracing Islâm). He loses both this world and the Hereafter. That is the evident loss." Surah [22], al-hajj, ayat [11]

وانزلوا قيصر وهو راعي ظلاله
كسروا تاجه شبّوا في حريره
حنا شيدنا حضارات الجلاله
ناشرين أعلامنا في كل ديره
جامع الزيتون لاتنسى سؤاله
وانشد الحمرا وساءل عن حميره
لشط نهر الراين أعلنّا العداله
عوّد البابا على حالة كسيره
وافتتحنا الهند بسيوف النصاله
قبلنا الهندوس كانوا في الحظيره
مادرى داهر يمينه من شماله
لين كبرنا عسى في الأمر خيره
والله مانُنصر وهي فينا العماله
والعقول مصنعه صارت شطيره
والمجالس ضاحكه بأهل الفشاله
والهموم يا صاحبي صارت صغيره
ننتصر لامن رجعنا للرساله
والهدى يحكم على المسلم ضميره
ننتصر بالدين ماهو بالكلاله
مثل نصرة خالد وابن المغيره

A panoramic view of Islamic Center of Samarinda. Created from, 10 - 15 photos I think. Stitched them using Microsoft Image Composite Editor. Not very good, you can see barrel distortion on them. This is my 1st try on panoramic picture. Really want to make another one.
Pictures taken using NEX5T kit lens set to 20mm f8 iso100. Forgot the shutter, sorry.
3 August 2014 will remain the day the life of the yazedis has changed. Up to 200,000 yazedis people have been displaced from their homes in Sinjar City and the surrounding towns and villages when ISIS arrived by surprise .
The islamist group asked the residents to convert or die...Hundreds of Yazidis were executed as they refused. Most of the people left the village on time, fleeing on foot in the mountains, without nothing and most of the time without water or food , under a 50 degrees temperature. They walked for 7 days, including the babies and the elders. Many were killed, wounded or captured on the way. Now thousands are in Duhok in Kurdistan, and towns like Zoar when they have found a shelter for the winter. Some still have contacts thanks to the mobile phones with the relatives captured or trapped in Sinjar, but many do not have any news of their relatives and fear the worst...Until now, the town od Sinjar is seized by ISIS, where hundreds of Yazidis remain stranded months after fleeing their homes.But Kurdish peshmergas have regained lot of the ground lost to ISIS with the help of the U.S. air strikes. Sinjar is a strategic place as it would put the peshmergas on three sides of Mosul, the largest city under ISIS rule in northern Iraq.
