Two of this special mountain ranges iconic mountains in the distance: Pilot and Index peaks. Pilot has been whittled down to a sharp point.
"The Absaroka Range has the distinction of being blanketed with the world's first National Forest. The Shoshone National Forest was established in 1891 due to its corridor proximity to Yellowstone Park. At 2.4 million acres, it is one of the largest on the continent.

On the far horizon, the setting sun.
Last beams of golden light search their way through the open window. A murmuring brook flows to the song of the birds outside. Wind gently brushes the cherry trees and carries the scent of flowers inside the quiet room. With a deep sigh he lifts his gaze from his graphic tablet, eying his work in a critical manner. Maybe it was time for a break? He turns towards u10. They've been quietly working side by side. It was a comfortable silence between them, that he rarely felt with others. A smile whisks over his face as he watches him.
A moment passes, before he gets up and disappears into the kitchen, only to return with a red fox cup, filled with fruit vinegar. He takes a seat on the edge of u10's pillow, gently he leaning onto him.
"Here.", he almost whispers, while passing the cup to him.
"Asahi-kun." A genuine smile spreads across u10's lips.
"Thank you.", he says accepting the cup. "We should take a break and stretch."
Asahi chuckles and thoughtfully he taps his chin with his index finger. "How about... would you like to watch a movie?"
"Hai!", u10 replies with a hearty laughter.

Pour la migration du Canada vers le Mexique, les papillons de nuit ont besoin de huit à dix semaines, ceux des régions plus méridionales de quatre à six semaines. En moyenne, ils parcourent environ 80 à 120 kilomètres par jour. Au cours de leur migration, de nombreux papillons de nuit meurent. En tout les papillons vont parcourir en moyenne 4 000 kilomètres. Arrivés au Mexique, les papillons pondent leurs œufs sur des aslépiades et meurent. Leurs descendants reprennent alors la migration, cette fois vers le nord et les générations successives remontent progressivement le continent jusqu'à l'automne...
Tout ce cycle est nécessaire pour que les monarques prennent des forces pour la reproduction qui aura lieu en mars, juste avant de prendre leur envol pour le Nord. Le voyage vers le Nord prendra plusieurs générations. La durée de vie normale d'un monarque est d'environ deux mois l'été, et de plus de sept mois pour la forme hivernale.
Les raisons de cette migration et comment les papillons retrouvent le même lieu que leurs prédécesseurs après plusieurs générations demeurent partiellement énigmatiques. On sait que le Monarque utilise un genre de compas solaire situé dans son cerveau moyen, et des horloges circadiennes localisées dans leurs antennes. Des chercheurs ont montré qu'une légère baisse de température est le signal pour entamer la migration vers le nord.
For the migration from Canada to Mexico, moths need eight to ten weeks, those from more southerly regions four to six weeks. On average, they travel about 80 to 120 kilometers per day. During their migration, many moths die. In all, the butterflies will cover an average of 4,000 kilometers. When they arrive in Mexico, the butterflies lay their eggs on milkweed and die. Their descendants then resume migration, this time to the north and successive generations gradually go up the continent until autumn ...
This whole cycle is necessary for the monarchs to gain strength for the breeding which will take place in March, just before taking off for the North. The journey north will take several generations. The normal lifespan of a monarch is about two months in the summer, and more than seven months for the winter form.
The reasons for this migration and how the butterflies find the same place as their predecessors after several generations remain partially enigmatic. We know that the Monarch uses a kind of solar compass located in his average brain, and circadian clocks located in their antennas. Researchers have shown that a slight drop in temperature is the signal to start the migration to the north. ( Wikipedia)
