I moved to the side of the road to watch and photograph this house being moved in northern NSW Aust.

Road Trip Spring 1969.

Kodak Instamatic Camera.

A giant billboard on the development site includes an artistic rendering of what the Karma condo tower will look like. The billboard is in front of the John Irwin House, blocking it from view. To the left was a temporary building that housed the sales presentation centre for the condo project. The condo was a huge hit with buyers, and is 100 per cent sold out.

The building on the right (west) side of the John Irwin House is a condominium highrise.

A closer view of the Karma tower illustration on the billboard next to the John Irwin House. It shows how the heritage building will be incorporated into the northeast corner of the project.

Looking toward the house from the northeast corner of the Karma site. Once it has been relocated, the John Irwin House will sit where the white parking lot attendant's booth is situated in this photo.

Looking east along Grenville Street toward the John Irwin House

The house has now been relocated to the northeast corner of the Karma site

demolition of the rear of the house has started and will be visible in the next photo ...

The rear half of the house does not have heritage status and will be demolished.

The house is almost in its final resting position .... it still needs to be moved several feet forward, closer to the Grenville Street sidewalk

A closer look at the spot where the house stood for more than 139 years.
