No one was injured and no vehicles were damaged in the making of this photo!

There are many sources of distraction.

My girls ♥♥

From the Panmure Rd overpass

I was a highwayman

Along the coach roads I did ride

With sword and pistol by my side

Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade

Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade

The bastards hung me in the spring of '25

But I am still alive

A view of the Karakoram Highway, from the Altit Fort, Hunza Valley, Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan

Found this barn just as it was reaching the golden hour. Had to stop and make an image. Glad I did, I love old barns.

AC/DC – Highway to Hell

Art created from my photos | Rock Creek Park | Washington, DC | Rock Creek Park Highway #painting

From the Midland Highway, somewhere near Tunbridge, Tasmania.

I took quite a few shots here of the hillside with some great cloud formations at this location. This shot was me attempting to get the lighting right, with the intention of cropping the bottom third out of the image (metering seemed to lock into the sky resulting in horribly under-exposed foreground detail, even with compensation with metering), but the juxtaposition between the road and the barren plains and hill worked for me.

Reminded me of this song from the TV show, "Then Came Bronson" in the 70's.

Going down that long lonesome highway

Bound for the mountains and the plains

Sure ain't nothing here gonna tie me

And I got some friends I'd like to see

One of these days I'm gonna settle down

But till I do I won't be hanging round

Going down that long lonesome highway

Gonna live life my way

One of these days I'm gonna settle down

But till I do I won't be hanging round

Going down that long lonesome highway

Gonna live life my way

Yes I'm going down that long lonesome highway

Gonna live life my way

U.S. Highway 189, during a thunderstorm. Wasatch County, Utah

This is the view down the road from the near the east side of the Bridge over the North Fork of the Shoshone just before the Clearwater Campground west of Cody Wyoming. The hill south of the highway is where we stopped to take the grandkids sledding. The rocks on the hillside belong to the Absaroka Volcanics which are Eocene in age.

Have you ever watched a baby discover her feet? That's what this sea otter reminded me of as it checked out its back feet.

We were totally enamored with the sea otters on our recent trip to the Monterey peninsula - so much so that I have over 4,000 images just of sea otters to sort through.

Jetty Road off of Highway 1 in Moss Landing is a great place to get close to the sea otters that congregate and raft there in the protected waters of the harbor. While we did not see any newborn pups, we did get to observe mothers with larger pups (more to follow!).

Bored of winter already, resorting to playing with some photos from the summer that I hadn't used yet.

Scenic drive along the Richardson Highway Alaska, with Mt. Sandford outstanding on a heavenly landscape.

Along Oregon Highway 101

I love the scenery along 149 but I really like coming around the curve and checking out this view of a "red" mountain.

Some commutes are better than others, this is one of those. This is what I have to endure on the way home from a day in Denver, Colorado. The snow covered mountains are the continental divide, some rising over 14,000 feet high.
