La Canée, ou Hania, a été la capitale de l’île jusqu’en 1971. La ville est très ancienne et a gardé plusieurs de ses vestiges historiques. Le port vénitien est très joli, ainsi que le dédale de rues de la vieille ville, où il fait bon se perdre au petit matin. Enfin, bonne nouvelle, en dépit du tourisme, La Canée n’a vraiment rien perdu de son charme, contrairement à d’autres lieux.

Una volta stavamo su un prato, ad Amsterdam, osservando una coppia come tante, lui piuttosto anzinano, piacevole, attento, discorsivo; lei molto più giovane, dagli occhi svegli, in attesa di un riscontro ma volitiva.
Lui parlandole leggeva su un foglio fra le mani, la guardava molto intensamente, poi d'improvviso distoglieva lo sguardo.
Lei stava accoccolata sull'erba, lui in ginocchio di fronte.
Avrei detto parlassero di teatro, ma l'olandese sfugge alle mie già scarse conoscenze linguistiche.
Così ho chiesto a .unsuono. chi pensava potessero essere.
La sua risposta:
"Lei un ammiraglio della marina, lui un logopedista."
Da allora aspetto con ansia ogni volta che .unsuono. interpreta la realtà. )

The weather changed almost hourly, so there were lots of different light and shadow moods possible here at the pass. Musically, we'd better stick to the piano here. Because during my holiday I listened to a lot of Hania Rani up here.

Hania is on the north coast of Crete; in Dec. that's the cold and windy side of the island. We had been looking for a place to spend the winter, but when told of the wind - on Crete they call it "the broom" - that comes down out of Europe, through Greece, and through the Aegean Sea right into the face of Hania, we decided to head for Rhodes, instead.
This was taken inside the main Greek Orthodox Church in Hania, Crete.
I first needed to crop the image by 60-70%. I applied some basic processing in LR6 before I transferred it over to Perfects 10. I applied a texture screen in overlay mode which imparted more warm tones. I rubber stamped out a couple of minor areas of distraction then in LR6 I added a radial filter to bring up the brightness specifically to the head and shoulders of the priest.
