So today we leave the Opera House with its performances of 'Carmen', and return to the bridge where at my favourite 'rock' platform at Kirribilli, one of the passing cruise boats is belting out 'Uptown Funk' by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars:

Die Wetteraussichten für diese Nacht sahen gut und ein kurzer Check der Wetterlage um 2:00 Uhr sagte einen klaren Himmel an. (Den Fehler, bei leichter Bewölkung loszufahren, mache ich nicht noch einmal.) Bis zum Monduntergang gegen 3:00 Uhr war noch Zeit und ich stand pünktlich auf dem Berg, um alles aufzubauen und die Fotos zu machen, bevor die astronomische Dämmerung wieder einsetzte.
Leider lag das Zentrum der Milchstraße hier rechts im Bild, wo die Lichtverschmutzung am größten ist. Aber die Saison hat ja gerade erst begonnen und es ergeben sich bestimmt noch mehr Gelegenheiten.
Die Milchstraße erstreckt sich hier von links in nordwestlicher Richtung mit den Sternbildern Perseus und Kassiopeia bis nach rechts in südlicher Richtung mit den Sternbildern Schlangenträger und Skorpion, die in Richtung Zentrum unserer Galaxis stehen.

Den Aufsteckblitz habe ich per Funk getriggert und gegen die weiße Zeltdecke blitzen lassen, um die Sitzgruppe im indirekten Licht erstrahlen zu lassen. Rechts ist es mir persönlich etwas zu dunkel, d.h. ich packe mir beim nächsten Mal noch einen zweiten Blitz ein.

Impromptu street portrait from Glasgow, Scotland. A busker in a three piece band that was absolutely shredding the funk with his bassist and drummer, who frankly rocked too! Enjoyed the tunes for some time, donated some loose change and captured this when they were not expecting me to. I managed to pull out the reflection in processing to give the city context to the image, enjoy!
