The Orlando Wetlands boardwalk travels across a small lake, through the marshland and offers many views of nesting birds in the tall trees. Not so close as to disturb the wildlife, binoculars or telephoto lenses bring them close enough.

This House Finch looked considerably different from others I have seen. The reds were very red, and its chest looked bright white. Also, the reddish color was pretty much confined to the areas shown in the picture (head, neck and rump), and ironically there were no houses in any nearby area : ))

Two Bald Eagles drew quite an audience on a clear day at Belle Isle State Park. They sat in the very tall bare tree, and posed for photographers. There was supposedly a nearby nest, but I didn't find it.

Perched perfectly in the sun's center, this grackle is getting its fill of fun in the sun :)

S O L D E M I VIDA

té contesto : => Te Quiero en mi Vida , asi te digo ! ! !

Eres mi sol de mi Vida

Ay ay carinho

Camineramos . . .

Te llevo en el Piensamiento

Prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Let's Go Prrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Lettra Musica :

Local Regalness enjoying some Tithonia nectar

Love that blue pollen! Linum flowers are very cool items!

Basking in the sun, a Grackle displays a strong silhouette in the late afternoon...

Temps getting near 80° already, good thing we had double our normal rainfall this year.

Cosmos soaking it up, looking good.

Flax flowers having the same color pollen as Gilia Tricolor.

A Clematis that will produce masses of intense distinctive wine-red star shaped flowers up to 12 cm wide with a creamy-yellow boss of stamens and will bloom profusely over a long season. Will thrive in moist, well-drained soils in full sun and will grow up to around 9-12 ft long.

Handling the record temps in style, just a bit extra water.

Scoring some Autumn Cosmos!

Feathery orange succulent flowers on the menu this morning.

Orange Tithonia beaming in the So Cal Winter sunshine. Going to be 80° today. 😎

Must be 50 of these open this morning. :-) Bees not out yet.

Coreopsis flower leaning over a bit from the hurricane force winds we've had lately.

Processing this nice Tithonia flower made me want some pumpkin pie!

Rain! None! African Iris does not care.

Must hit every cornflower and extract as much nectar as possible. Repeat process.

My sister grows Bulbine, a clumping succulent which are also drought tolerant. Loves full sun but will tolerate a little shade. Great for Texas summers! :)

Some variety of Marguerite Daisy waking up to the early morning sunshine.

In our garden a couple of years back...

Catmint flowers attract so many insects and I'm always excited when the dragonflies grace them.

Happy New Year 2022 to everyone!

Thank you for the amazing images you have shared with me this past year, and thank you for all your visits and comments on my photostream :)

8 days away, and the Gaillardias are still blooming like crazy. If it doesn't freeze, good for bees!

With that dark head, piercing eye, and sharp beak, these birds often appear to be angry. Most of the time though, they're not. It's just their intensity and appearance which makes them seem fierce.

They are, however, quite high-strung and very alert, often wary of approaching humans, meaning I have to be fast and inventive to get a decent capture of them :)

Early morning, with bright sun bathing this feeding Killdeer.

These birds often let me get fairly close to them before they skitter away or fly off. Add the 500mm telephoto lens to the mix and it makes it seem like the bird is VERY close!

Have a great new week, everyone...

So Cal sun burning off the morning dew.

Captured roadside, mid-day in full sun, this one was worth the sweat and the grasshoppers.

In theory, I was 'killing time' before a meeting, but with this gift of an image, the phrase no longer holds up.

Mexican Sunflowers and some very blue Cornflowers behind.

It was a blazing hot, sunny day at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, and a small group of Mule Deer found this small shady spot in the grassland.

Most deer will stop their activity, and stare at a perceived potential danger. (Like the expression: "frozen in the car's headlights..."). After assessing the danger, they will either flee, or return to their activity. This deer did neither.

I was in my stationary car, using it as a blind. All of the other deer returned to grazing, or settled down to a seated position, but this muscular deer maintained a position of seeming defiance. I left the site, and I assume he returned to grazing.
