After officially unveiling the new paint scheme for the railway in Kansas City in early June, CPKC sent both CP 9375, and KCS 4805 west across its Canadian mainline to Coquitlam BC a day apart on trains #201, and #113. The two units were then positioned back to back on the point of the eastbound Coquitlam to Toronto hotshot #100, departing on June 11th. I missed that move due to work, and assumed that after heading east, the units would likely tour the rest of the CPKC system. Somewhere along the line, the units were swapped off of #100, and were demoted to leading the lowly Calgary-Vancouver wayfreight, #401 west from Calgary on June 14. This time I was working in the right place at the right time, and was able to catch the pair not long after they departed west out of Revelstoke BC. Seen here descending the west side of Eagle Pass along Victor Lake.

I'm indifferent to the new scheme versus the old CP scheme. I am very excited though, for the potential of the repainted locomotives giving me something clean to photograph for a change.

Four locomotives from Burlington Northern (BNSF) shuffle back and forth moving rail cars over the Rio Grande River between Eagle Pass, Texas and Piedras Negras, Mexico. Eagle Pass, Texas USA

After work today, I stumbled upon this BNSF business train pulling into the Topeka, KS yard. As it shoved into the shops, I noticed a brand-new addition to the fleet, which may very well have been the reason for the trip. This nice car is the BNSF 69, the "Eagle Pass," named after the SW Texas border town along the Rio Grande. The tran was the O-TOPTOP1 27A, with the BNSF 7845 for power, and I'm pretty sure that it was just a shake-down run to test out the new car.

Previously, this car had been the Santa Fe "Regal Isle" and is now a 6-bedroom crew dorm.
