Raining, windy and cloudy, driving along the local highway, all of sudden appeared the double rainbow, I was shocked by the nature miracle… Stopped the car on the side of the road, luckily I had the wider lens on my camera, I could capture the whole double rainbow, I also could ran to the different views, the double rainbow seemed following me… it disappeared in about 10 minutes… My camera was soaked with rains…

Two hydrangeas cleansed by the rain and two bright colours. To see details of the hydrangea petals, please view photo enlarged.

This dark, long-bodied diving bird floats low in the water with its thin neck and bill raised; perches upright near water with wings half-spread to dry. The Double-crested (which rarely looks noticeably crested in the field) is the most generally distributed cormorant in North America, and the only one likely to be seen inland in most areas.

The Heron in the lead made the mistake of landing in a wide open area without knowing it was already the territory of the Heron in the rear, who arrived minutes later. The chase was back and forth for about 30 seconds before the first bird gave up and left. View large.

Happy Sliders Sunday!

I rotated my photo from today’s Smile on Saturday oil on water and added another shot from that session for a layer of blue oil bubbles. My first attempt at layers. : )

I took a leisurely ride in a rural area and saw this beautiful horse on her hind legs tossing a construction cone high in the air. I did a double take excited I had to wait to turn around in a place wide enough to do so so that I could get back and take her picture. I slid from the drivers seat straight into mud . Woods to late-make the best of it. Just walk a bit and use my zoom lens maybe I could get her carrying her cone. Bingo-I did yay 😀 She made eye contact. Looked down at two orange cones and selected one slowly and meticulously and trotted by with it in her mouth making sure I noticed. My big smile told her I did.

A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. It takes the form of a multicoloured circular arc. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the sun.

Les escaliers de bois et leur ombre ...

I couldn't get them all together but there was 7 Monarch on the wild bush at one time. Several were close but hidden behind foliage. Happy Day to all and Thanks for any faves or comments (;-D

This double crested cormorant did a few circles of the lake to gain altitude before it finally left the area. Gave me a few passes at it. Didn't nail the focus, but I liked the dynamic pose enough to post it.

... for a hot and peaceful Sunday!

The Milky Way and the Constellation Scorpius rise over an Undisclosed Location.

Elitist or Entitled? which am I? I’m not sure where I fall…Hum let me see what the dictionary says:

Entitled- Definition….believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.

"his pompous, entitled attitude"

Elitist- Definition……..demonstrating a superior attitude or behavior associated with an elite.

"some that say he is a spoiled, elitist snob"

Neither sounds like a camp that I’d want to be in.

The motives for withholding locations are far ranging from “save the location”, to “save the animals” to “save the unprepared from themselves” undisclosed locations…….secret places, are we elitists or are we entitled? Those that cherish the outdoors have seen the ramifications of location over saturation, and they “are” concerned. Of course, it’s because these are the most beautiful places on Earth and they would like to see that future generations can enjoy them as well. Doesn’t sound bad to me? The problem than lies within the human spirit, the spirit to set out and seek what’s out there, to see and feel and smell it with our own senses and take in the scene in all it’s natural glory. If your an inhabitant of this planet than it’s you’re right to see it, of course it is!! The real problem is the person that just purchased a camera and has never been outside the city in his or her life, do i want to give out a location that I shot in the backcountry of the Grand Tetons? If I want to eliminate them than Yes, they would be grizzly scat by morning. But If I’m concerned for their safety or the preservation of the location than NO. How am I to decide who gets a location or not, by deciding am I than elitist? Man and his devices have traveled into the far reaches of this galaxy and beyond and found no solid evidence of life, and the fact that we have been on this planet for just the blink of an eye makes me think that this planet is a gift more than it is a privilege.

IMHO, This planet belongs to every human being but it is a gift and not a privilege!!! does that makes me elitist or just concerned? If you have no outdoor experience than please prepare yourself to see it safely and responsibly. :-)
