Mount Vesuvius
is a somma-stratovolcano located on the Gulf of Naples in Campania, Italy, about 9 km (5.6 mi) east of Naples and a short distance from the shore.
It is one of several volcanoes which form the Campanian volcanic arc.
Vesuvius consists of a large cone partially encircled by the steep rim of a summit caldera caused by the collapse of an earlier and originally much higher structure.

Everything is this compact town is so perfect – the Market Square, the Cathedral, the numerous parks all look as if they were crafted by artists of note, which they were!
The city is very well preserved and clean to boot. It is almost like a stage set, nay, make that a movie set, perhaps a Disney flick?
Every window has lace curtains and flower boxes with geraniums, all the buildings are in good repair, and the architecture is infinitely interesting. Low-country designs of the Middle Ages were a matter of pride; every detail down to the outline of a window frame is beautifully proportioned.
In the heart of the downtown, motor vehicles are prohibited, except for deliveries during restricted hours, making it one of the easiest walking cities of the world, safe and well-signed. The winding cobbled streets, adjacent to the canals, are shared by pedestrians and the occasional horse-drawn carriage. Sweepers follow the horses and keep the streets litter free.
Restaurants serve authentic Belgian cooking, a strong rival to French cuisine, as well as numerous international style dishes. Fresh fish, cooked a thousand different ways, is plentiful, as are beautiful homegrown vegetables. Of course, this country is famous for its chocolate, a worthy choice for dessert. My own personal favorite Belgian meal is carpes frites plus pommes frites, which would be called ‘fish and chips’ anywhere else, but is in fact a perfect delicacy here in Bruges.
Green Canyon
is a real paradise in a nature reserve, located in the Taurus Mountains.
It stretches for 14 kilometers and is part of a huge reservoir, formed as a result of the construction of the dam of the hydroelectric power station “Oimapinar” and impressive with its beauty.
Our amazed eyes discover the spectacular ruins of the Inca city of Wiñay Wayna (2650m).
Wiñay Wayna, whose name means "always young", was only discovered in 1942 by Julio C. Tello, 31 years after Machu Picchu.

I happened to discover the spiral staircase in this shot by a stroke of luck. I was passing by the Golden Mile Tower, and was curious to see that there was a movie complex The Projector attached to the tower.
The lifts were out of order, so I had to take the stairs. It turns out the staircase turned out to be a spiral one. This spiral staircase is truly a rather welll-hidden and dare I say, one that may descent into obscurity in the near future.
It was not surprising to see the cineplex so quiet and devoid of people as many people, especially the younger ones may not be aware of this place.
We discovered a great pawpaw patch at a WMA north of here that Zebra swallowtails love. This species prefers to nectar on tiny blossoms like these (ID??) and wild blueberry in early Spring. This shot is not brightened nor saturated ... I wanted to show how their red spots naturally pop out at you - as if a child had opened a box of giant bright crayons and gone to work!
A nice red Letterbox and Door I found in Berne, Switzerland. Shot with my Sony A7 Mii and the beloved Zeiss Batis 1.8/85mm a F=1.8. Might be bokehlicious.....

Quando i giorni di una vacanza iniziano ad accorciarsi verso la fine, la malinconia prende spazio.
E proprio durante quella transizione ho fatto questi ultimi scatti in un luogo che, a prescindere dalle condizioni meteo, ti mette di fronte a dei contrasti di bellezza e colori che raramente si dimenticheranno.
Skirting the mostly frozen pond discovered by following the moose tracks through the forest (moose tracks or rabbit tracks? Our party couldn't settle on a clear verdict), Canadian National's L53981 21--the local to L'Anse--nears Champion, MI, amidst a plethora of pristine winter wilderness enhanced by a light precipitation of powder. It's a long, slow journey to L'Anse, gingerly treading nearly 50 miles from the yard at Ishpeming on two roughly parallel, poorly-surfaced steel strips laid down for the DSS&A, never once exceeding an agonizing 10 mph over the 5-hour-plus trip. This is the Upper Peninsula, rugged and remote--the train will pass through almost nothing that qualifies as a population center at any point between origin and destination.
Alas, here we have another image suffering from quality and processing shortfalls due to the new camera capturing images in jpeg format instead of raw, consequences from a simple yet unfortunate oversight during the camera's initial setup. Manageable perhaps, but by no means perfect.
