Participants from the Creative Code Spring Immersive will be showcasing work based on the skills they developed over the ten-week program. Gray Area’s Creative Code Immersive is an education program focused on giving a small cohort of students a strong foundation in the art of creative code, covering a wide variety of mediums from micro-controllers to projection mapping.

We had a fun day in Robotics. Today we started off the day by teaching switch blocks and line followers. Our campers were able to code their robots to follow a tape line and their challenge was to speed up the robot once it was able to follow the tape line. In the afternoon we introduced Sumo bots. The goal of Sumo bots is to push the other robot out of the circle or to flip it over.

Girls Code 205 is a partnership between the Birmingham Public Library and National Center for Women & IT that won a $15,000 grant from the CSforALL (Computer Science for ALL). The grant will support efforts to expand computer science opportunities for girls and teens in metro Birmingham.

In December 2015, Ms. Langsdorf's computer science students ran two days of Hour of Code activities. Code.org established this activity to say that we can instill 21st century learning practices in our schools.
Students worked with their peers to complete a chunk of coding work. It was fun and challenging, and participants won a stress ball.
At Coding for Kids Camp, young coders used sequences, loops, and conditionals to navigate mazes, solve puzzles and create stories.
