The strictly and geometrically designed corpus of this Parisian cabinet was decorated with rich carving and finely engraved ornament.

The interior contains a concealed great hall with the mythological lovers Venus and Mars at its center.

Unlike the freestanding ivory cabinets made at Augsburg, this cabinet-on-a-stand was positioned in front of a wall.

A vintage style cabinet card with a Christmas theme.

The cabinet card was large enough to be easily viewed from across the room when typically displayed on a cabinet, which is probably why they became known as such in the vernacular. However, when the renowned Civil War photographer Mathew Brady first started offering them to his clientele towards the end of 1865, he used the trademark "Imperial Carte-de-Visite." Whatever the name, the popular print format joined the photograph album as a fixture in the late 19th-century Victorian parlor.

I'm so excited to show my new wall dolly display cabinets! My hubby has been working on these for some time and he hung them up in the dolly room a few days ago! Today he asked why I hadn't filled them with dolls already....I said I was just so happy to see all of those empty shelves.....so much promise for the future...of buying lots of new dollies! Sadly I already could fill them up! My other cases are a bit too full and I would need to space them out so they can be seen better. Oh well....for now I like the look of empty shelves! Lol! The fabric lining the interior of the cases is Marie Antoinette.

Face of small cabinet I recently built. Shapes of squares and circles, each drawer is 3 inches square.
