MUTSU BAY Japan (July 22, 2016) An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician, assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 5, uses a AN/PQS-2A sonar during a dive in the Mutsu Bay off the coast of Japan during the 2JA 2016 Mine Countermeasure Exercise (2JA-16 MCMEX). 2JA Mine Countermeasures Exercise is an annual bilateral exercise between the U.S. Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force to strengthen interoperability and increase proficiencies in mine countermeasure operations. U.S. Marines with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force set up perimeter security during a fast rope exercise at Auxiliary Airfield 2, Yuma, Ariz., Oct. 2, 2015.
