Impressions from the French Riviera near Monaco: someone really built their house into this mighty rock face, sporting a swimming pool on a plateau under old trees and a balcony with unspoiled views from high above over the Baie de St. Laurent.

The original new synagogue was builtin 1886 in what was then the pre-dominantly Jewish part of Berlin. and was Germany's largest synagogue at the time. It was destroyed in WW2 but re-built once the wall came down in 1989.

This is a custom master bedroom unit.

Dimensions are aprox. 9' 6" wide by 7' 4" high by 18"- 19 1/2" deep.

It's one of my favourite buildings in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is Emerson Chambers, which was built in 1903. This is, in my opinion, how buildings should still be constructed.

A thunderstorm cell quickly rolls through the canyon in the afternoon, dropping torrents of rain and throwing lightning.

My technique for catching lightning was brute force: with as long an exposure as I could manage, I set the camera’s builtin intervalometer to take 50 photos back to back, sometimes reframing between runs. I caught three lightning bolts that afternoon, including the one shown here.

This little rabbit with brown glass eyes sits inside the papier-mâché cabbage, which is covered with green leaves. If you look closely, you can see that the skin is made of rabbit fur. The rabbit looks over the edge of the cabbage and chews on a cabbage leaf, then gets startled and shoots back into the cabbage.

Of course this shot is actually very easy to get, once you have in

your hand a bulb with liquid inside. To fill the bulb you need to

drill a small hole in the thread base of the bulb until yo cross the

glass inside there. After that you just will need a needle and a

liquid to use.

I stuck an accessory brightline viewfinder on this camera and it makes a huge difference in framing compared to the builtin viewfinder.

I'm also realizing the f/2 Retina-Xenon lens on this camera is really only ever sharp right in the center unless stopped way down. I wonder if that's just how they are or if something is shimmed wrong or something. I can only find a couple of exposures I've made with this camera that have sharp corners.

Taking a picture of my laptop taking a picture with it's built in camera of me taking a picture.

I think?

Since I still don't have a fancy flash like the Canon 580ex II, I used a small mirror hand held against the builtin flash to bounce the light vertically off the top ceiling.

The results of that photoshoot were AMAZING!

Sometimes small ideas can save you tons of money, eh?

The whole series together

I gathered too many droplet shots when in a recent time I was very motivated experimenting with this type of highspeed photography.

I don't want to drop this same kind of photos to my stream from time to time, so I decided to throw all out at once.

I promise not to shot never again this kind of subject, so it would be nice if you take a last view at them as a personal favor to me. :)

thanks

gracias

When I saw this trailer loaded with all sorts of items I imagined someone was going on an elaborate campout. There was a VW bug, some motorcycles, a wagon wheel and a huge barbeque grill, among other things. It turns out this was one of four vehicles, plus additional trailers when a man's friends helped him move from one part of California to another. When I asked if they minded if I took photos, they simply laughed. Here, one man is working on fixing a tie-down.

Another from my Waverley trip from last week. We had a lovely sunset with glowing skies. This shot was taken from Waverley's stern whilst the vessel was just off Yarmouth IOW.

Hurst Castle is an artillery fort established by Henry VIII on the Hurst Spit in Hampshire. Charles I was imprisoned here in 1648 before being taken to London to his trial and execution. During World War II, the fort was manned with coastal gun batteries and searchlights. It is managed today by English Heritage and can be visited by ferry or on foot but there is no vehicular access due to its location at the end of a sand spit.

PLEASE, NO invitations or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks.

The barrel-vaulted nave with its two aisles and upper gallery leads the eye straight towards the main altar in the eastern apse. The ornate altar, built in 1912, has a Baroque-style baldacchino over the tabernacle.
