Un believable news this morning waking up and hearing this bridge has been struck and is no longer standing. We just went over this bridge on Sunday afternoon. Use it quite a lot.
Hopefully those that were on the bridge have not been killed. Prayers for them.

Tower Bridge (built 1886–1894) is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London, England which crosses the River Thames. It is close to the Tower of London, from which it takes its name, and has become an iconic symbol of London.
The bridge consists of two bridge towers tied together at the upper level by two horizontal walkways, designed to withstand the horizontal forces exerted by the suspended sections of the bridge on the landward sides of the towers. The vertical components of the forces in the suspended sections and the vertical reactions of the two walkways are carried by the two robust towers. The bascule pivots and operating machinery are housed in the base of each tower. Yesterday, we had a terrific day of hiking in eastern Dartmoor. On our way back home I simply had to stop to take a photo of this wonderful granite bridge spanning the River Dart. I might have annoyed one or the other driver by parking my car after the bridge in a bend - really sorry about this, but I could not resist! Holne Bridge is from medieval times, has been built in 1413. I like how the bubbles in the river creates those white lines in the long exposure.

TOWER BRIDGE – this London icon spans both the River Thames and the ages. Completed in 1894 the bridge ushers 40,000 vehicles safely across the river, daily. An engineering wonder, the bridge required 400 workers and 8 years of construction to complete. The sight of the Gothic towers rising above the skyline is a must-see. The bridge was designed to be architecturally sympathetic with the nearby Tower of London.

Crimean bridge - suspension bridge in Moscow, passes across the Moscow River. The bridge was built during Stalin's reconstruction of the city and is open May 1, 1938 the length of the span of the river - 168 meters. The bridge has a span 3; its total length - 688 m, width 38.5 m.
From April to December 2001, work on the general reconstruction of the Crimean Bridge. During this time, builders repave the sidewalks and the roadway of the bridge.
