Quoting George Hurrell, of Jean Harlow: I used a 1000-watt spot above and behind Harlow's head plus a 1000-watt floodlight from the camera as a fill light. The spot was to the right of the camera and about five feet above Harlow. I always lit Harlow's face with a single spot because the definite shadow emphasized her strong features: her deep-set eyes made it necessary for her to tilt her head down. Her high forehead and short chin were a serious consideration in lighting her, but the cleft in her chin was an asset because it helped balance her forehead.

One of our models found a great location for a shoot - an old building that had been abandoned for years; the new owners were going renovate it; they let us shoot in it before they gutted it. Very cool setting but this was in July so it was over 100 degrees inside the building, full of dust and who knows what else. Everyone was drenched with sweat but it was worth it.
The model in this series is Jenn Legs - one of our favorite models. Jenn is a Nurse and fitness buff with a great personality, great sense of humor and adventure, photogenic, and fun to be around. We got a nice mix of shoots with her.
I took these photos in Ontario, OR on a very hot, muggy day in July 2021.
