Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a widely recognized scientific approach which applies the techniques and principles of learning to improve socially significant behaviour and bring about meaningful and positive change in behavior. We use this method at our Autism Centre in Thornhill.

64121 LG71 DNJ, a pink liveried First Glasgow Enviro200 EV which is usually found on the 9/9A routes, is seen across from Shawlands Primary School on a 57 to Pollok’s Silverburn shopping centre. The rise in antisocial behaviour, including a couple of instances of arson on double deckers in Spring 2023, had led to First Glasgow removing all doubles from the routes that served Arden, Darnley, Nitshill, Priesthill, Pollok and Crookston. The routes in question were the 3, 10, 57 and X8. Whilst the 3 was the least affected, as it was mostly single deckers already, the latter three services were badly affected by the decision to remove the double deckers and use single deckers instead. The 57 in this photo was absolutely rammed with people with every seat taken and those that were standing jostling for the little spaces that remained free. Fortunately, not long after this was taken, First Glasgow made the decision to return the double deckers to the routes that were affected. However, antisocial behaviour remains an issue on buses in Glasgow, as well as across Scotland, with one instance, nearly a year on from this photo, involving a group of teenage girls who got on my bus home at Strathbungo banging seats, punching the windows and shouting and swearing very loudly, I raised it with the driver only to get a shrug and to be told they’re on this bus all the time, which I knew to be a blatant lie as I get that bus home every night.
