„Gallery of the Ancients“ (Galleria degli antichi) in Sabbioneta, Lombardy, Italy. This is the lower level of the building. The "great corridor in the castle square", as it was originally called, was built between 1583 and 1586. It is an external structure in exposed stone consisting, on the lower level, of twenty-six arches. Total length is approximately 97 metres.
In 2008, Sabbioneta, together with Mantua was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, due to its exceptional nature as a newly founded city built in just over 30 years by Prince Vespasiano I Gonzaga and, as a recognition of its perfect example of practical application of Renaissance urban planning theories.

At some stage, Ukraine will become EU member.
EU Council President Charles Michel said earlier today that he expects Zelensky to formally apply for EU membership some time soon. the EU commission will then formulate an advice, it will require a unanimous agreement of the 27 member states to approve the application and grant the status of candidate member state, which would be the start of the formal accession procedure for the Ukraine (this accession procedure takes several years).
Meanwhile, in a never before taken measure, yesterday the Council of National Ministers of the 27member states of the European Union, unanimously decided that Ukrainian refugees arriving in the EU will automatically get protected status for up to three years without having to go through the usual asylum procedure.
360,000 Ukrainian refugees have already arrived in the EU, a figure that is expected to rise to several millions over the next couple of days and weeks.

Photographed May 2022 / Canon FP 35mm SLR Film Camera with Canon Lens Mount Convertor P and KMZ HELIOS-44, 58mm/2 lens (13 aperture blades). The film was FOMAPAN 200 B&W stock metered ASA 180 developed in CJT-63 (a catechol+phenidone formula which uses trisodium phosphate as alkali and which also contains triethanolamine). The negative was scanned with a Pentax k3 DSLR and Schneider COMPONON-S 80mm/4 enlarging lens on a helicoid extension tube. The image was edited on an iPad mini using the Snap Seed application: full frame scan of entire negative area without trimming.

Pienza is a town and comune in the province of Siena, Tuscany, in the historical region of Val d'Orcia. Situated between the towns of Montepulciano and Montalcino, it is considered the "touchstone of Renaissance urbanism".
In 1996, UNESCO declared the town a World Heritage Site, and in 2004 the entire valley, the Val d'Orcia, was included on the list of UNESCO's World Cultural Landscapes.
Before the village was renamed Pienza its name was Corsignano. It is first mentioned in documents from the 9th century. Around 1300 parts of the village became property of the Piccolomini family. After Enghelberto d'Ugo Piccolomini had received the fief of Montertari in Val d'Orcia from the emperor Frederick II in 1220. In the 13th century Franciscans settled down in Corsignano.
In 1405 Aeneas Silvius Piccolomini was born in Corsignano, a Renaissance humanist born into an exiled Sienese family, who later became Pope Pius II. Once he became Pope, Piccolomini had the entire village rebuilt as an ideal Renaissance town and renamed it Pienza ("city of Pius"). Intended as a retreat from Rome, it represents the first application of humanist urban planning concepts, creating an impetus for planning that was adopted in other Italian towns and cities and eventually spread to other European centers.
The rebuilding was done by Florentine architect Bernardo Gambarelli (known as Bernardo Rossellino) who may have worked with the humanist and architect Leon Battista Alberti, although there are no documents to prove it for sure. Alberti was in the employ of the Papal Curia at the time and served as an advisor to Pius. Construction started about 1459. Pope Pius II consecrated the Duomo on 29 August 1462, during his long summer visit. He included a detailed description of the structures in his Commentaries, written during the last two years of his life.

Bodyfy is bimontly event (april, june, august, october, december) that regroup designers of different background that will present their creations in one location. The general theme is connected to everything that touches the skin (skin, tattoo, makeup , scarification , henna , piercing , jewelry, body part, mesh head and more.) The style is industrial, alternative, grunge or other similar style. Clothes are not allowed at this event.
This event is for women, men or unisex items. Bodyfy opening on December 8th and ends on Dec 24 th. Each designer will have to create one exclusive item related the theme and it’s not a discount event. We are reaching for high quality items and there is no prices limit.

Before I took her portrair, this nice girl was doing some of the daily chores common in rural communities in India; i.e collecting the cow´s dung. Historically, the use of animal excreta can be found all around the world for different applications; fertilizers, dry animal dung fuel or to produce building materials. In Spain for example, traditional "adobe" bricks are made of a mix of mud, wheat straws and dung.

Artistic application using my imagination and an old photo taken a few years ago on my travels around the USA. Side roads are great escapes and scenery like this is abundant if you are looking for it. Unfortunately, I have little artistic ability so I lack the talent to create art from pen, ink, pencil, marble, etc. but I do have the imagination to look at a an object or a scene and envision and interpret what’s on my mind.

First of all, I thank all the friends of this Flickr community who have been concerned about my health and in all the ways they have been tempted to hear from me and have written words of affection and concern to me.

It has been a long time since I used the camera to take a photo to be published on Flickr, the last photo published dates back to January 13th. Since then there has been a sequence of negative circumstances.
It all started in December 2019 when I realized that the medicine I was taking to regulate blood pressure, a little high, did not work very well. After a couple of weeks of cardiology, radiology and so on, the doctors decided to change the medicine, same dosage but a different medicine.
At that time I had little free time and little desire for photos, but the problem was solved and now with the new drug I am much better.
Then, after over fifteen years of service, the computer monitor stopped working. I ordered a new monitor which arrived after a few days. But as soon as I connected the monitor I realized that the computer did not turn on ... The computer was also more than 15 years old, still with the XP operating system.
I ordered a new computer and the prospect of having to spend a lot of time setting up the new computer and including all the applications that were in the old one made me enter the mood of ... laziness ...
F ... O .. modern technology ...
Then came the Coronavirus. All closed in the house. Grumble !!!!
At this point I reflected for a long time on the oddity of our life and the life of our parents and grandparents. We have to fight a deadly virus that spreads all over the world but they had to face two World Wars in a few decades.
They had the courage and strength to resist and win, so we too must have the courage and strength to go ahead and fight this virus all together even if, ironically, we have to stay at least one meter apart. Physically distant but close in spirit and in the will to win this battle.
For this reason, when I read the theme of "Smile on Saturday" I immediately thought of the gesture that made Churchill famous and that encouraged millions of people to fight and win.
