DC based rapper Jefe (formerly known as Shy Glizzy) joined Birmingham rising rap elitist Jabo to put on a killer concert last weekend at the Merienda Lounge. The concert was a joint endeavor by hit concert promoters EB Productions and the Merienda Lounge.

Jabo debuted his latest single, “Know How” which features HitMaker D-Aye. The latest smash hit single from Birmingham’s hottest homegrown rapper is scheduled for release later this month and will be available on all online music platforms i.e. iTunes, Spotify, Tidal, and Google Play.

Jefe performed a number of his classic singles including the widely popular, “So Awesome.” The artist who has seen multiple singles on the Billboard charts, announced recently that he would be abandoning his former stage name and using his new moniker, Jefe a means to re-invent himself.

Tonight, EB Productions x Merienda Lounge will feature DJ Luke Nasty x Love & Hip Hop’s Star Rasheeda (Atl’s Queen of Crunk) at Merienda located at 420 Richard Arrington Jr Blvd S. Opening act is 10$tackz.

The parade welcomed two Grand Marshals, the Honorable Mayor William Bell and Interim Jefferson County District Attorney, Danny Carr.

Celebrity notables spotted in the crowd were Interim Superintendent Dr. Larry Contri, Merika Coleman, Deputy Treasure Sherry McClain, Councilors Jay Roberson and Sheila Tyson.

During his victory speech, Wenonah Lady Dragons head coach Emanuel Bell shared that he’s a 100% ally for equality in women in sports. Bell then recognized the WJ Christian Lady Chargers for their recent championship win.

The Funny Bartender Brings Laughter to B.O.S.S Ultra Lounge

Local Comedian Jose Cooks, known as the "funny bartender,” was a featured comic at the recent “We Talk, You Laugh” comedy showcase held B.O.S.S Ultra Lounge in downtown Birmingham.

Cooks was the final comic to take the stage and definitely brought the laughs with his signature jokes about his unique name and the misconceptions about his ethnicity.

About Jose Cooks.

Jose Cooks has been a popular face at the Stardome Comedy Club for the past year. If you noticed the jokes were funnier with the more alcohol you drank, then you have Cooks to thank for that most of the times.

Cooks bartends at the iconic nightclub and sidelines as a comic, hence the name moniker, The Funny Bartender. Cooks has also performed at a number of comedy events, including the Bottles & Beads Party Gras Cruise and the Comedy Catch in Chattanooga.

Cooks joined comedians @BradanGivens @TySmith Eugene Henry Jr and host @DarrellJLive for an evening of fun and laughter.

DC based rapper Jefe (formerly known as Shy Glizzy) joined Birmingham rising rap elitist Jabo to put on a killer concert last weekend at the Merienda Lounge. The concert was a joint endeavor by hit concert promoters EB Productions and the Merienda Lounge.

Jabo debuted his latest single, “Know How” which features HitMaker D-Aye. The latest smash hit single from Birmingham’s hottest homegrown rapper is scheduled for release later this month and will be available on all online music platforms i.e. iTunes, Spotify, Tidal, and Google Play.

Jefe performed a number of his classic singles including the widely popular, “So Awesome.” The artist who has seen multiple singles on the Billboard charts, announced recently that he would be abandoning his former stage name and using his new moniker, Jefe a means to re-invent himself.

Tonight, EB Productions x Merienda Lounge will feature DJ Luke Nasty x Love & Hip Hop’s Star Rasheeda (Atl’s Queen of Crunk) at Merienda located at 420 Richard Arrington Jr Blvd S. Opening act is 10$tackz.

1st Annual Shawty Lo Celebrity Basketball Game (Pre-Game Pix)

The pictures in this photo gallery were taken at the 1st Annual Shawty Lo Celebrity Basketball Game. Fans and friends came together to celebrate the life of the deceased rapper.

A number of celebrities came out to support the family friendly event including #LHHATL reality show star Bambi x Mook-B and Front Street (D4L) x 1017 Eskimo Signee and american Gangster Ralo x legendary manager Johnnie Cabbell and Rapper Six 9. It was also mentioned that 21 Savage made an appearance at the widely anticipated basketball game.
