I must have seen about 200 photographers out on 9/11 photographing the tribute lights. I know most people try to keep other photographers out of their photos but for some reason I love to include them. I think it adds a neat element....... I was waiting for the day someone would spot themselves on my stream and say hey that's me!... Sure enough, last month it happened..... Say hi to Michelle in NY

This was shot just as the sun started going down, so the tribute lights are hard to see.
Nachdem mich gestern Nacht dieser Nebel so entzückt hat, dachte ich mir da schlaf ich mal lieber nur 3 Stunden und fahr zum Sonnenaufgang in die Sächsische Schweiz... Resultate folgen :D

The portal at Skomakargatan 9 is from the 17th century when it was still mainly shoemakers and tailors who had their activities along the street. The owner of No. 9 was in the 1650s tailor Jonas Jönsson who lived there with his wife Karin Joensdotter and their children, as well as their children and apprentices.
The portal at Skomakargatan 9 has been preserved despite recent renovations. What is missing, is a fence with a large ring hanging in to the left over the portal. That is written on an older sketch of the house but is gone today.
In the map above the portal there is engraved "IISM" and "KIDG" and between them a sign. The sign is a badge used by people who could not write their names but wrote under documents through their so-called housemark. Therefore, we know that the tailor Jonas Jönsson was unable to write. The letters IISM are tailors Jonas Jönsson's initials and the letters KIDG are his wife, Karin Joensdotter, initials.

Yes, I photographed a wedding at 9 months pregnant (36.5 weeks)! Here's a cute picture my husband grabbed of me holding all my gear as we headed over to do family portraits after the couple's ceremony. Yes, I am a trooper!!!

Wegen dem neu eingeführten 9€ Ticket waren einige Regionalzüge am Pfingswochenende ganz schon voll. Besonders die Verbindungen, die schnell Großstädte miteinander Verbinden und Züge in Tourismusregionen waren betroffen. So auch der Murgtäler Radexpress, welcher auch in diesem Jahr noch mit n-Wagen und 111 fährt. Denn dieser ist die schnellste Regionalverkehrsverbindung zwischen Karlsruhe und dem Rhein-Neckar Raum. Wären da nicht die BR 425 und der Teppich-RE zu sehen, könnten sich alte Hasen wie Gustav Richard glatt fragen , ob hier nicht doch Szenen von der Einführung des Schönes-Wochenende-Tickets zu sehen sind.

Hi everyone,
Today a very simple (trying minimal) shot, the weather is not really good at the moment, well it has been raining for almost a week, well not really heavy rain but it is always cloudy and rain comes from time to time, well it is enough of complaining!
Trying to get some very minimal atmosphere I decided to do a very long exposure shot (725 seconds) to remove the clouds and to get as much as light as possible over the crane, it is not exactly as I was thinking but well, somehow the feeling of loneliness is there I think...
So, very simple shot today... and now time to go to bed...

La gente di Casso va e viene ancora dal Toc, portando via dalle case e dagli stavoli più cose possibili. Ma altra gente non vuole abbandonare le case e i beni malgrado l'avviso fatto affiggere dal Comune, pressato dalle richieste provenienti dal cantiere. [...]
[Viene la sera] e la gente, adesso, è tutta nei bar a vedere la televisione. Sono ancora pochissimi i televisori privati e in eurovisione c'è la partita di calcio Real Madrid-Rangers di Glasgow. Due squadre molti forti, una partita da non perdere. E infatti molta gente è scesa dalle frazioni a Longarone, e anche da altri paesi della valle, per godersi lo spettacolo nei bar. La gente di diverte, discute, scommette sulla squadra vincente. Sono le 22.39. Un lampo accecante, un pauroso boato. Il Toc frana nel lago sollevando una paurosa ondata d'acqua. Questa si alza terribile centinaia di metri sopra la diga, tracima, piomba di schianto sull'abitato di Longarone, spazzandolo via dalla faccia della terra. A monte della diga un'altra ondata impazzisce violenta da un lato all'altro della valle, risucchiando dentro il lago i villaggi di San Martino e Spesse. La storia del "grande Vajont", durata vent'anni, si conclude in tre minuti di apocalisse, con l'olocausto di duemila vittime.

It would be to our eternal shame ever to forget.
Not so much an act of terrorism, more one of mass murder.
But no wind chill! It actually felt less cold than earlier this week. I played it safe on Monday and Tuesday and did not go out to ski or photograph. I thought that the extreme cold might have created some interesting ice on the Des Plains River. The temperature was supposed to hover around zero Thursday morning, but my car gauge was registering -9. I went out to the river anyway, as with the days warming up, whatever interesting ice patterns were probably going to disappear.
My initial thought was to do a B&W, but there was a bit of color in the sky.
It's warming up. Ironic when you think 31 degrees F feels like a heat wave!

9/11 memorial commemorates the Sept 11, 2001 WTC attacks, and is located at the World Trade Center site, on the former location of the Twin Towers destroyed during the attacks. The names of 2,983 victims are inscribed on 76 bronze plates attached to the parapet walls which form the edges of the Memorial pools.

I loved this exposure, it was exposed just enough. I just wish that I'd had more time to work on another shot from a lower angle!
